Road Closure: 🚧⛔️A523 Macclesfield Road⛔️🚧
Cadent are carrying out gas main replacement on Macclesfield Road, Hazel Grove from 27th July.
This will require a road closure from Melford Road to Devonshire Park, including the junction of Chatsworth/Haddon/Macclesfield Roads. Resident access will be maintained for those on Macclesfield Rd from the southern end of the closure only. No road vehicle access will be possible under the railway bridge for the full time of the closure. We have been assured that pedestrian access will be maintained under the bridge and along the full length of Macclesfield Rd.
We hope that if work goes to plan, the Chatsworth/Haddon junction closure will be lifted within 3-4 weeks with the remaining works then carried out between Melford Road and the railway bridge.
Please also note that signal control will be required on the Melford Road junction for the later period of the works.
Cadent have been instructed that they must reopen all roads before schools start back in September.
