Swipe 👉🏻 to see “The Baby Bird: An Unexpected Journey” 🐦

This morning, while enjoying a cup of tea, I heard a little tweet that sounded like it was coming from inside the house.

After a quick look around and finding nothing, I glanced down… and there it was, perched on the cushion looking straight at me.

Judging by its feathers and the yellow edges of its beak, it looked like a nestling, so I thought it must have come from somewhere nearby.

Sure enough, after a look around the back door, I spotted a nest tucked away high up in one of the man-made nest boxes. Inside were several more nestlings, with Mum regularly flying back to feed them.

So out came the ladder, bird in hand, and up we go, back into the nest it went. It was reunited with its family, and hopefully it’ll now go on to live a long life.

I bet it’s saying to its brothers and sisters right now, “You’ll never believe what happened to me today!” 😂

If you ever find yourself in a position to help an animal in need, do what you can. Sometimes what feels like a small act to us can make all the difference to them.

Big dog? No problem. 🐶

Meet Fred, the Labradoodle.

Fred came in for his regular 6-week full groom. We keep him a little shorter through the summer so he stays cool and comfortable.

He’s a big, strong boy, and he’s wonderfully well-mannered and a pleasure to groom.

I know some owners of larger dogs worry about finding a groomer who has the space, equipment and confidence to work with them. That’s why I want you to know that dogs of all shapes and sizes are welcome here, and every groom is tailored to the individual dog’s needs and temperament.

This is Eddy. ❤️

Eddy is enjoying his golden years and has had surgery on both of his back legs following ACL injuries. That means I take things at his pace, making sure he’s comfortable throughout every step of his groom, with plenty of reassurance along the way.

Judging by this photo, I think he was quite happy with the arrangement. 😊

Bonnie the Cavapoo 💛

She’s a lovely dog who was a dream to groom. After her blow dry when she was all fluffed up, she reminded me of a little jacket potato ☺️🥔

A brush a day keeps the groomer away…😉

Now I know it’s not realistic to brush your dog every day, but even one thorough brush and comb each week can make a huge difference.

Regular brushing helps remove loose dead undercoat, reduces tangles and matting, keeps the coat in better condition, and allows fresh air to reach the skin more easily.

This pile of fur came from just one brush and comb in the garden…and now Shay is fast asleep, snoring his head off 😂😴

Betty Boo 👻

This girl has such a cracking personality. One of the friendliest dogs I’ve ever met.

Betty came in for her regular full groom, but we kept her ears and muzzle nice and full. I think the beautiful white parts of her coat really makes that fluffy muzzle stand out.

☀️ Summer the Cavapoo 🐶

Summer’s name couldn’t be more appropriate right now… 🥵☀️

She popped in for her regular 6-week full groom. We went for a shorter trim all over, helping to keep her coat more manageable and comfortable during the warmer weather.

We kept her head looking rounded and cute, and opened up around her eyes so she can see the world again ☺️👀

Shay loves charging through long grass… but so do fleas and ticks. 🌾🐕

The difference is, only one of them gets a treat when we get home.

Ticks can latch on as your dog brushes through tall grass and vegetation, while fleas are much more active during the warmer months. After every walk, it’s worth taking 30 seconds to check around your dog’s:
• Ears
• Neck and collar area
• Armpits
• Groin
• Between the toes

The sooner you spot them, the easier they are to deal with.

A quick check today could save your dog a lot of itching, discomfort and an unwanted trip to the vet.

It’s a good job Margot came to see me before another heatwave sets in 🥵
