Before I get my tiny violen out…being tall is great. However there are a couple of cons.

• Paying for extra leg room. It should be free if you’re over a certain height.
• Standing at a music festival and hearing the displeasure of the people stood behind you. Shall I just go all the way to the back then?
• Banging my head more often than not. I’ve learnt to subconsciously duck near doorway’s.

The latest addition to this list was dog grooming tables aren’t high enough. But thanks to Langham SureGrip Raisers I can scrub this off the list ✅

If you’re also a tall dog groomer I highly recommend these back savers.

Before you book your puppy’s first full groom, it’s worth giving them the chance to get used to the salon environment in a calm and positive way.

My puppy intro appointments are designed to help young dogs build confidence with handling, equipment, sounds and new experiences at their own pace. These short visits can make a big difference to how they feel about grooming as they grow, helping future appointments feel much less stressful.

Starting early isn’t about getting a perfect groom – it’s about creating positive associations and setting your puppy up for success.

Nellie the Working Cocker Spaniel popped in today for her first bath, trim and tidy with me. 🐾

With her beautiful array of browns and caramels, she reminded me of Lady from Lady and the Tramp. It was a pleasure meeting her and helping her look and feel her best.

Have you noticed your dog chewing or licking one of their paws more than usual?

At this time of year, grass seeds are something I keep an eye out for during grooming appointments. These tiny seeds can become trapped in the fur between the toes and may cause irritation if left unnoticed.

If your dog is paying particular attention to one paw, it’s worth having a closer look for any redness, swelling, or signs of discomfort.
Regular grooming and keeping the hair around the paws tidy can help make it easier to spot potential problems before they escalate.

I always check paws as part of the grooming process and will let you know if I notice anything that may need further attention.

Don’t forget to check your dog’s paws after walks, especially if you’ve been through long grass 🌾🐾

Every morning starts like this ❤️

Shay has always had a way of reminding me what truly matters. These morning rituals mean the world to me, and they remind me why I became a dog groomer.

Years ago, after being away for a time, Shay developed painful mats under his armpits and in other areas. I wanted to take him to a groomer, but everywhere I contacted said they couldn’t help.

So, nervous but determined, I decided to do it myself.

I still remember sitting with a pair of scissors, terrified of hurting him. But Shay seemed to know I was trying to help. He stayed calm, relaxed, and trusted me completely.

As I gently worked through each mat, he’d wag his tail, as if he knew relief was finally coming.

Once they were gone, the difference was amazing. He moved more freely, looked more comfortable, and seemed so much happier. Seeing how much grooming could improve a dog’s wellbeing left a lasting impression on me.

That moment taught me that grooming is about so much more than appearance — it’s about comfort, health, trust, and helping dogs feel their best.

And it all started with this guy ❤️ His unconditional love and trust changed the course of my life in ways he’ll never know.
