Our lovely reindeer boys have settled in beautifully – and they’ve already been caught getting up to a bit of leafy mischief! 🍃🦌
Chopper, in the blue head collar, might look like he’s licking the tree trunk… but he’s actually after the moss and lichen growing on the bark. These tasty treats are a big part of a reindeer’s natural diet – especially in the wild, where they use their hooves to dig through snow to find them! ❄️🌿
Fun fact: one type of lichen, Cladonia rangiferina, is so important to reindeer that it’s nicknamed 'reindeer moss'!

We recently added some new sand to the giraffe paddock and we *think* Sifa might like it... 🦒🤩
Hard to be sure though. 😅

Say cheese, Biscuit! 😁
Caught mid-chomp or mid-smile? Either way, our lovely Highland pony Biscuit was showing off his impressive teeth. 🦷
Did you know a pony’s teeth never stop growing? That’s because they spend so much of their day grazing, they need a steady supply of tooth surface to keep up with all that chewing! 🌾

The votes are in, and we have a winner… our first penguin chick has officially been named Mumble! 🎉
A huge thank you to everyone who took part – our penguin team are chuffed with your choice, and we think it suits the little one perfectly. 🐧💚
Now all that’s left to do is watch Mumble grow (and waddle) into their brand new name! 🥰

We’re only just coming back down to earth after the high of our 55th birthday celebrations – and what a party it was! 🎉
With sunshine all weekend, brilliant company, and a park full of smiles, we couldn’t have asked for a better way to mark such a big milestone. Now that the bunting’s packed away and the last bit of cake’s been eaten, we wanted to take a moment to say a few very big thank-yous…
🎪 To Rubber Chicken Theatre who kept the fun flowing with giant bubbles, circus skills, and colourful face painting – the kids were in their element.
🎨 To David Crossley, who wowed us all with three live art pieces created right before our eyes – absolutely stunning work.
📻 To 103.1 Central FM for helping spread the word and broadcasting live from the park on Sunday – you brought such great energy.
Finally, to our wonderful guests – thank you for celebrating with us. 😍
We’ve come a long way in 55 years, but we’re always looking ahead. We’re committed to giving you the best possible experience when you visit, and to raising the bar when it comes to the care and conservation of the animals who call Blair Drummond home.
Here’s to the next chapter! 💚

🦌 Meet Todd, Dan, Chopper & Blitzen! 🎉
We’re thrilled to welcome four reindeer boys from Hobbledown Heath in London, and they’ve already started winning over everyone’s hearts! 💚
You’ll spot them exploring their spacious new paddock by the Birds of Prey centre – and thanks to their colourful head collars, it’s easy to tell who’s who: Todd wears brown, Dan red, Chopper blue, and Blitzen green. 🥰
Fun fact! Reindeer are the only species of deer where both males and females grow antlers! But here’s the twist – it’s the females who keep their antlers throughout the winter, meaning Santa’s reindeer team is probably all girls! 🎅
Looks like our boys will get to chill this winter – no long sleigh rides for them! 🦌❄️

Our lovely Mondy knows exactly how to make the most of a sunny day - with a good old-fashioned mud wallow. Not only is it great fun, but it also helps keep her cool and protects her skin from the sun. Think of it as elephant sun cream! 💚

🌸🐒 We’ve had another spring arrival! 🐒🌸
A sweet baby girl was born to mum Wuwu on Easter Sunday, joining Isaac as our second Barbary macaque baby of the season. 🍼
This week, her name was revealed in a fun moment with our keepers. Wuwu was given a choice between two snack-filled boxes - one marked with a picture of Iona Abbey and the other with Islay whisky. She made her pick, and now we’re delighted to introduce… Iona! 🌟
She’s still spending most of her time snuggled up with mum, but visitors might spot her catching a ride on mum’s back in the macaque reserve. 👀🐒
