🐾 Not every dog needs more miles… sometimes they need more guidance.

A good walk isn’t just about getting from A to B. It’s about learning to focus, communicate, make good choices and enjoy being out in the world. 🐶❤️

Our structured group walks give dogs the chance to walk alongside others in a calm, controlled environment — helping build confidence, focus and social skills without the chaos of an uncontrolled group.

And for dogs who need a little more individual support, our solo training walks are tailored specifically to them. Whether it’s loose-lead walking, distractions, recall, engagement or simply learning how to enjoy a walk together, we work on the things that matter to you and your dog.

🐾 NEUTRAL PACK WALKS ARE BACK! 🐾

We’re excited to announce that our Neutral Pack Walks will be back next month! 🎉

📅 Saturday 19th September
⏰ 10:00am
📍 Stewartby Lakes – meeting outside The Forest Centre

Our neutral pack walks are all about calm, structured socialisation and helping dogs learn to walk around other dogs without the pressure of direct interaction.

Dogs are kept at a comfortable distance, allowing them to observe, decompress and gradually build confidence around the group. There’s no forced greetings or chaotic off-lead play — just a relaxed walk where we focus on neutrality, engagement and good experiences around other dogs. 🐶🌿

Whether your dog is confident, excitable, nervous or simply needs some practice walking calmly around others, these walks can be a great way to build those skills.

Ozzy has officially completed his Puppy Basic Foundations course! 🐾🎓

He’s worked hard on building those all-important foundations, from learning focus and engagement to developing the skills needed to grow into a confident, well-mannered dog.

And, of course, he decided to style out his graduation photo with the cutest little paws-on pose! 🥹🐾

A huge well done to Ozzy and his family! ❤️

NAVIGATING LIFE WITH A DISABLED DOG? YOU’RE NOT ALONE. 🐾

Living with a disabled dog can sometimes feel overwhelming. You may find yourself wondering “Where do I even start?” or worrying about whether you’re doing enough to help your dog live their best life. ❤️

But disability doesn’t mean your dog can’t learn, explore, enjoy adventures and thrive.

It simply means we may need to adapt the way we communicate, train and support them. 🐶✨

At Star’s Walks & Pet Services, we believe every dog deserves to be understood as an individual. Our holistic, dog-led approach allows us to adapt training, enrichment and walks around your dog’s abilities, limitations, confidence and individual needs.

Whether your dog is deaf, blind, has limited mobility, a neurological condition, has lost a limb, or lives with another disability — there are ways we can help them enjoy life to the fullest. ❤️

A few things training dogs has taught me along the way:

🐾 Patience comes first: Progress isn’t linear, and rushing only sets you back.
🐾 Consistency beats intensity: 5 minutes of focused work every day beats a 2-hour marathon once a week.
🐾 Clear communication is everything: If they aren’t understanding, it’s on me to change how I’m asking.
🐾 Confidence is built in micro-steps: You can’t force progress; you create safe spaces for them to figure things out at their own pace.

Every dog has a reason for how they navigate the world. Our job is simply to listen closely enough to understand it.

When you shift from asking “How do I stop this?” to “Why is my dog doing this?”, training stops being a struggle and starts being a conversation.

“Behavior is communication. When you understand the ‘why,’ everything else falls into place.”
