I'm not one for doing posts about individual sessions that I have with dogs, preferring to treat my lovely clients rather than post about them. That said, I wanted to call out 2 dogs that I've seen this week in my clinic that has some lovely AC.

One is 4 year old Beagle who I've been seeing regularly since September 2025, who is a very spirited character and struggles to settle, when I've treated him at home. I see him for general health & wellbeing, monthly. When I first saw him he had quite restricted fascia and incredibly touch sensitive flexors & hamstrings, and now they are vastly improved. He is just back from a lovely walking holiday in the Lake District and needed his regular maintenance treatment. It was wonderful to see him finally able to rest during his 1st session in my clinic yesterday, so proud of how brave and relaxed he was yesterday.

The other is a lovely 11 year old Maltese Shih Tzu Cross. I've been seeing her since May 2026. She has a bespoke SENIOR Dog treatment that I put together for her on the day based on how her body is feeling. She did a great job, relaxing during her treatment, this hasn't always been the easiest thing for her to do, she loves to look after her Mum & family so helping her nervous system to rest is really important.

Well done to both yesterday who made a huge leap forward during their treatment sessions and both were full of life, feeling rejuvenated after their sessions.🐾🐾❤️🐶

Go and support Abingdon Local Excellence Markets, there is a wide range of lovely stallholders there. I won't be there this time, as we have advocated for dogs and advised that you should be leaving them at home in such hot weather.

But there are loads of other reasons to go and visit this wonderful market tomorrow.

Given the weather predictions for Saturday 27th June 2026, tonight I have made the decision to NOT have my stand at Abingdon Local Excellence Markets. I am grateful to the team for having a wonderfully flexible approach for our dogs.

The health of your dogs are important to us and it is important to keep them safe when the weather is so hot. Please be mindful of the forecast temperature, the actual temperature and the anticipated feels like temperature.....your dogs are like us but with fur coats on.

🐾 It is not safe for.dogs to be walked or exercised when the temperature hits above 23C unless in a temperature controlled and safe environment
🐾 Sometimes it is not cooling down sufficiently in the evenings
🐾 Yes your dog might not be happy but missing a walk is better than exposing them to the risk of heatstroke.

I will see you again later in the year.
Keep yourselves and your dogs safe🙏

In the meantime if you'd like to understand more about how Clinical Canine Massage Therapy can help your dog, please either email, phone or whatsapp me.

I am back with a stand at the market next Saturday, please pop by and have.a chat with me about how Clinical Canine Massage can help and support your dog and their general wellbeing and really make a difference for our dogs as they age or live with orthopaedic conditions such as Osteoarthritis and Hip Dysplasia.
I will be offering FREE muscular health checks for as long as the weather allows. Temperatures are set to be above 23 degrees next weekend so please be mindful of this. Our dogs can only sweat through their paws and if the roads and pavements are too hot for us walking barefeet on, your dogs should be inside during the hotter hours and only out walking when the weather is cooler.

The FIFA World Cup is almost here, and we've been busy scouting the world's top canine talent.

Over the coming weeks, each nation will be represented by a dog breed chosen to match its origin, footballing style, strengths, weaknesses, and personality.
From powerful centre-backs to lightning-fast wingers, every dog will have its own:
🏃‍♂️ Speed Rating
💪 Strength Rating
🤸 Agility Rating
📋 Physio File
🔋Massage Power-Up

Will the English Bulldog bulldoze its way through the tournament?
Can the Spanish Water Dog outmanoeuvre the competition?
And which breed will be crowned our Canine World Cup Champion?

So before VAR gets involved, remember this is all just a bit of fun! Not every nation has a recognised native breed, so some countries are represented by what we think is the next best canine ambassador. The injury profiles, physio notes and massage suggestions are based on general breed characteristics and common considerations seen in practice, and are intended as light-hearted educational content rather than veterinary or therapeutic advice.

Follow along as we reveal the groups throughout the tournament and see which four-legged footballers make it all the way to the final.

👇 Which country are you backing to lift the trophy? And which dog breed would you pick to represent them?
