Some sofa time with our agouti babies this evening. Still using the tail markings to tell them apart as we can’t find another way but that will have to end before we show them in December

The second pairing we will be doing will be Eden and Bailey.
We do have a third pairing but I am still deciding if I am going to do 2 or 3

Breeding goal: Breeding for better hooded/Variegated while maintaining standards for health and temperament

Eden
Russian Blue Hooded

Eden is the sweetest rat who keeps to herself but is always happy for strokes and cuddles. She is very chilled and is never in a rush although she is a master escape artist when it comes to free roam! She came second place in pets for adult owned doe and was described as ‘Sweet and friendly’.

Bailey
Black Variegated

Bailey is the ultimate shoulder rat! He is super chilled and will just go with the flow wherever he is. He won first place for best pet and is always happy to have a cuddle. His ultimate clame to fame was winning the shoulder rat competition at the Midlands Birthday Show, where even an earthquake couldn’t shift him from his resting spot. He attended the Birthday show as a shoulder rat and spent most of the show being passed around for cuddles. He was so relaxed he fell asleep on someone’s lap mid-show!

Lilac is chilling with 3 of her daughters. Two of them will hopefully have their own babies next month and will hopefully be just as brilliant at being a mum as she was 🥰

As we are preparing for our next pairings which we will be at the start of November I thought I would share a bit about the rats we will be using and why.

Breeding goal improve Russian Blue Berkshire line while maintaining standards for health and temperament.

Misty
Russian Blue

Misty is our most people-orientated Doe. She won best Doe in pets and came 3rd overall for best pet being described by judges as ‘Just the right balance of cute and cuddly but also energetic and entertaining’. She came second place for best Russian blue in varieties and was described as having a good Russian colour. She is always the first one to the door for attention and the last one back in the cage in free roam. She would happily spend all day in someone’s sleeve.

Artemis
Russian Blue Berkshire

Artemis is our best Russian Blue Berkshire who loves nothing more than a seat on someone’s shoulder while he observes the world. He came 1st in varieties in the Badger and Berkshire kitten category. He hasn’t been entered in pets but has enjoyed visiting shows as a shoulder rat where he was able to socialise with everybody.
