🔔 A quick notice to all my lovely customers 🔔

Unfortunately I will be off for a number of weeks due to a small thumb fracture/ligament tear 😳 ( I know not very ideal!!)

This week I will be contacting anyone booked in with me in the next few weeks to rearrange once I have been contacted by the fracture clinic and I know more. I’m hoping this won’t put me out of work for too long but rest assured I will keep everyone updated and do my best to sort appointments out 😊

I’m happy to say I have the greatest, most understanding clients during times like this! Now to strap my hand up for a bit and hope for the best 😵😅

I am able to take on some new clients as I’ve had some openings come up on weekdays. Just a gentle reminder full grooms on mixed/curly coats must be kept on a 6-8 week schedule with me.

Bugz 💔 I will miss you my friend.

I’m truly gutted when they go, as their groomer, we naturally build up a connection. I always remember them all that I’ve met over the years and unfortunately lost. The worst part of the job 😔

That’s a wrap for 2023. Grateful for all my lovely customers it’s been the busiest year/xmas for me so far!!

Brush, Brush , Brush….
With the continuing wet weather it is so important to brush your dog even more regularly. We are seeing dogs coming in more matted than normal, so if you want to keep your dog in the normal style it is essential. For many rethinking a shorter style can be a great option.
We have so many owners tell us their dog does not enjoy grooming. No dog is born hating grooming, it’s about creating positive experiences, so early socialisation in a salon to get used to the noises and goings on and brushing at home, so knots and matts do not occur, is an absolute must! . This way brushing is pain free and your dog will have no reason to have anxiety about dog grooming.
Tips for at home grooming,
🐾 Insure you have a good slicker brush and comb
🐾 Make sure you brush up and out from root to tip and can get a comb through .
🐾 If your dog wears a harness extra brushing will be required on all contact points of the harness, so chest and armpit areas etc
🐾 Use a leave in conditioning spray when brushing to prevent coat damage.
🐾 Place your dog on a table, using a rubber Matt to prevent slipping, this will help your dog understand he has a zone where grooming happens, if you have a large dog, place an blanket on the floor in the same location each time.
🐾 groom in short bursts if needed but insure you finish what you are doing if your dog plays up, rather than letting them go straight away.
🐾 do not rub your dog with a towel, this causes friction , which causes matting, squeeze moisture from the coat, brush and leave to dry and then brush again.
🐾 If bathing at home you must insure products are rinsed well and to ideally dry your dog and comb through. Drying in matts makes them constrict tighter.
Remember a dog just wants to be comfortable,
so if short is more practical for the time you can dedicate to grooming and your life style, then they really do not mind. 💜

Hey everyone! Just a heads up I’m off now for a well needed break and back in on the 26th sep. Terri is also away and the shop will be closed. It’s been a busy time for me as I’ve just moved house, I’ve been getting back to messages as quick as possible around work. I will be answering any enquiries next week but if it’s urgent I will do my best to get back to you asap.

Also christmas week will be getting full soon, so I recommend booking sooner rather than later 🎅🏼 🎄
