Now the weather is turning wetter, colder and windier we wondered what most dog owners do with regards to walking their dogs.

Our dogs (and us) love routine, so we generally stick to the same time of day to walk. If it’s particularly cold and wet we might put a coat on them, especially if they have been clipped.

Then when we get home it’s a spray down of muddy feet and legs in the garden with a portable shower and a dry off in their Ruff & Tumble drying coats.

This means the dogs aren’t constantly being towel dryed when the wet weather is here which means their coats stay in great condition.

Ageing Dogs

Eventually you'll (hopefully) be asking yourself - how do I look after an ageing dog?

It's funny how you never see your dogs ageing until they can't keep up on a walk or are a bit stiff when they get up from a nap.

Ours are getting on a bit now and one especially - it's really noticeable. To keep them in good shape we do low impact daily exercise and give salmon oil in their food. Additionally they have YuMove in their meals as well as hydrotherapy when they seem a little slower, stiffer or flat in their demeanour. They also have continuous magnetic therapy to help with their circulation.

The combination of all of the above, as well as a good diet, seem to really work for our 2. It's always trial and error - always taking cues from your dog.
