๐พ๐ WHY ISNโT MY DOGโS GROOM ALWAYS COMPLETED FULLY? ๐๐พ
At Celestial Paws, your dogโs comfort, safety and wellbeing will always come before achieving the perfect finish. ๐โจ
Sometimes, a groom may not be completed exactly as planned, and thereโs an important reason why!
๐พ Fear & anxiety โ Some dogs find grooming overwhelming, especially when it comes to sensitive areas such as their paws, face or ears.
๐พ Nail clipping โ Nails can be particularly scary for some dogs. If a dog is struggling, pulling away, snapping or showing signs of distress, continuing could risk injury or make their fear worse.
๐พ Every dog is different โ Some dogs are happy having their body clipped but become uncomfortable with nail trimming, face work or other parts of the groom.
๐พ Knowing when to stop โ If a dog is becoming too stressed or fearful, I may need to leave certain areas unfinished rather than force them through an experience they arenโt coping with.
๐พ Building trust takes time โ Grooming is not just about how a dog looks; itโs about helping them feel safe, respected and comfortable. Sometimes, making small positive steps is a much bigger achievement than completing every part of a groom. ๐
โจ A slightly unfinished groom is ALWAYS better than a frightened dog being pushed beyond their limits.
Please remember that this isnโt a reflection of your dog being โnaughtyโ or โbadโ. Fear is communication, and every dog deserves patience, understanding and kindness. ๐ถ๐
At Celestial Paws, I believe in a fear-aware approach to grooming, working at your dogโs pace wherever possible and prioritising their welfare over perfection.
Thank you for trusting me with your precious pups and understanding that sometimes, their emotional wellbeing matters more than a perfect finish. ๐พ๐
