Some of you may have noticed that this page hasn't been very active lately.

It is with a level of sadness that I have made the decision to put Positive Paws Dog Training on hold for the foreseeable future.

I want to thank everyone that has supported me in this venture for the last 10 years. I've enjoyed meeting every one of you but I've especially loved meeting and working with all of your beautiful dogs.

I'm still around if anyone wants any advice or help but I won't be actively running training sessions.

I will keep this page open for now as I might be back at some point in the future.

Due to a change in circumstances, my availability will be more limited moving forward. I’ll primarily be offering sessions on Saturdays and weekday evenings. That said, I’m still here to support you and your dog training journey, and I’ll continue to offer phone and Zoom consultations if needed.

Mini rant incoming.

𝗢𝗳𝗳 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗗𝗼𝗴𝘀 𝗢𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀!!

I'm seeing more and more dogs being walked off lead down pedestrian paths next to roads - why is this?

Just this morning I saw a man walking his Frenchie without a lead on - he had the lead in his hand but chose not to use it! His dog ran straight into the road! Luckily there were no cars coming but it could have been a very different story. The man got cross with the dog but yet still didn't put it on the lead. Was it the dogs fault? Absolutely not!

Last week my dog reactive dog was approached by a much bigger off lead dog on a path. Just because it was wearing a collar saying "Friendly" still doesn't mean my dog wants it anywhere near her.

My question is, why is this happening? Is it because they think it looks cool? Is it because they have no regard for their dogs safety or the safety of other pedestrians or car drivers? Is it because they think they're dog is so well trained they don't need a lead? Is it because they pull on the lead?

My plea here is please, please put your dogs on lead if you're walking near roads. There are plenty of parks around that you can safely let them roam free. All dogs have their own brain and could make a wrong decision at any time. How would you feel if you're dog got run over? How do you think the driver of the car would feel if they ran your dog over?

Just consider and respect everyone around you and keep your precious dogs safe.

🐶 New Dog Walker - Staines area 🐶

I'm often asked if I can recommend a dog walker and up until now the ones I trust have been fully booked so I'm really pleased to introduce Rhian of 12Rhi Dog Walking.

Rhian will be starting up as of 1st July. She's fully qualified through the DWSA (Dog Walkers & Sitters Association), Fully Insured and DBS checked.

Currently Rhian is offering 1:1 walks in and around the Staines area, to give your dogs the full attention and space they need.
