1 year ago this week , 24th March 2021, launched on Netflix. This documentary was a MAJOR wake up call to people across the globe to the devastating impact we are having on our environment and how are fish meal is effecting our oceans. Viewers watched in horror as bottom trawlers pillaged the oceans for fish, taking with them whales, dolphins, turtles and other bycatch, to then throw these animals back into the sea dead. People were shook at the unsanitary, festering conditions in which well marketed ‘wild salmon’ was farmed ready for us to pick up at the local supermarket.
Whilst people vowed to not eat fish again, and to make actual, sustainable lifestyle and product changes, unfortunately we have yet to see genuinely ocean friendly options in many markets. One of these is the fishing industry.
