Winnie is now home safe โจ
W I N N I E U P D A T E 9/9/25
We were out until around 1 am last night, as the night before & will be back out again today.
Yesterday, our founder Lauren, tracked Winnie & slowly followed her across a couple of fields taking the time to read her body language & behaviours.
S U R V I V A L mode
Sadly, Winnie is presenting FULL survival mode meaning we will be unlikely to catch her without the trap. Dogs in survival mode may exhibit various behaviors, including increased alertness, hyper-vigilance & skittishness.
When in survival mode, dogs can become more reactive & defensive, as well as more inclined to run away or hide from any perceived threats... even their much loved owners.
DO NOT
This being the case, we are asking everyone
โ Do not call out
โ Do not chase
โ Do not whistle
โ Do not get eye contact
DO report sightings to 07523366738

SOCIAL MEDIA
We are asking people not to post or report any sightings on social media, as we don't want to MISS crucial information & we are very keen not to draw extra people to the area she is in which may result in her moving on. Instead, please report all sightings to: 07523 366738
NATURAL SIGHTINGS
We are asking for natural sightings only. Please do NOT come to the area hunting for Winnie or looking through bushes & calling her name. If too many people come to the area, she will feel threatened & move on, which means we have to start the process all over again of mapping her route which helps us decide the best place to position the trap.
We have been INUNDATED with distressing & disturbing crank calls too, which sadly is always the case when searching for a lost dog. This is why we give OUR contact details out, rather than the owners, in order to shoulder the load & prevent further upset to the distraught owner. However, this takes time & resources away from looking for Winnie & we must ask for this to STOP.
HUMANE TRAP & DRONES
We diligently map ALL sightings along with direction of travel to allow us to work out the lost dogs loop/route. This then helps us make an informed decision where best to place traps, field cameras & strategise on where to lay the trail mix. With enough sightings, we hope to be able to position a trap & cameras later today.
As always, we are working with our friends from Drone SAR For Lost Dogs UK. 2 thermal drones are on the case, which have been up.
TRAIL MIX
As Winnie is in survival mode, she will need to be lured into the trap using trail mix. Our trail mix recipe is a well tried & tested mix of blended ingredients designed to leave a scent trail directing the dog to the safety of the trap.
The very irresistible smell catches the dogs attention & they literally follow their nose to the trap & the banquet of food inside the humane trap. The trail mix is a smelly liquid & NOT a food source.
We will start making the trail mix imminently ready for when the trap is in position. The process of cooking, blending & laying the trail mix will be repeated every night along with cooking a BBQ banquet at the trap location.
