🌞🐾 HOT WEATHER WARNING FOR DOGS 🐾🌞

With temperatures rising, it’s vital to remember that our dogs feel the heat far more intensely than we do. Unlike us, they can’t sweat it out — and overheating can become dangerous very quickly.

Here are some essential reminders to keep your dog safe in hot weather:

🚫 Never leave your dog in a car, even for a few minutes. Temperatures inside can soar to deadly levels in moments.

🌳 Walk early or late – Avoid walking during the hottest parts of the day (11am–4pm). Hot pavement can burn paws, and dogs can overheat fast.

💧 Always provide shade and fresh water – Whether indoors or outdoors, your dog should always have access to a cool, shaded space and clean water.

🐕‍🦺 Watch for signs of heatstroke, such as:
• Heavy panting or drooling
• Lethargy or confusion
• Vomiting or collapse

If you notice any of these signs, contact your vet immediately. Do not wait — heatstroke is a medical emergency.

❌ Skip the groomer if needed – If your dog is too stressed in the heat or the journey isn’t safe, let us know. Their wellbeing always comes first. We can reschedule when it’s cooler.

This lovely girl came for her first visit today – Bea is a street dog rescued from Thailand 🇹🇭

She was a little nervous to begin with, which is completely understandable, given everything she has been through. We took things slowly, kept everything calm and quiet, and she managed well for her first time.

It’s always rewarding to see a dog start to feel a bit more at ease. Looking forward to building more trust with her in future visits 🐾

🐾 Back to Basics – A Little Reintroduction 🐶

Hello, lovely people! I thought it was time I reintroduced myself for anyone new here (and to say a big thank you to those who’ve been with me for a while!).

I’m Lorna, the groomer behind Barks and Bubbles here in Brewood. I’m a holistic dog groomer, which means I focus on your dog’s emotional well-being just as much as their hairstyle. 🧡

I specialise in working with older dogs and handstripping, but more than anything, I care about making grooming a gentle, respectful experience for each dog. I never rush, always listen, and work with your dog, not against them.

I love partnering with guardians who are patient, communicative, and truly invested in their dog’s comfort and happiness.
