We’ve been sniffing, mentoring newbies and planning shenanigans for their next walkies 😅
And of course, lots of fun! 🐾🐶❤️

It’s sad to see how many professionals put income before welfare.

I won’t name, but this is a post I saw today, trying to justify using paddocks with very limited shelter in 22-30C heat.

It’s disgusting! This person clearly doesn’t understand dogs and how their body’s work.

A dog has no understanding of the risks they put themselves in, they have the brain capacity similar to a 3 year old child.

If they want to play, they are not thinking we should stop before we over heat. It is up to us, the care provider to encourage good choices.

If your vehicle is parked on gravel or hard standing like at most fields, the shade will still bake their paws in peak heat.

Having access to a water bowl, does not cool down a dog’s internal temperature, so the risk of heatstroke is still very high.

Please, if you have a dog walker/ care provider, who thinks like this, you need to advocate for your pets safety.

I’ve felt really disappointed this week, as a pet professional animal welfare should come first before anything else.

The amount of professional walkers, service providers that I have seen posting about walks they’ve done, this week during peak heat, is disgusting.

There is absolutely no reason to be using fields with zero shade or taking out dogs with double coats in 22-30c heat.

You are supposed to be advocating for the dogs in your care. Start at 5am if you have to and do welfare checks later.

It’s bad enough seeing owners out walking in this but as a professional you should really know better.

I would much rather loose income over risking a dogs life.

DO BETTER!!!!
