A little update from Ashwood…

Firstly, thank you to everyone who’s continued to support us over the last few weeks. You may have noticed we’ve been a little quieter than usual on Facebook and events have been cancelled, but we’ve been taking the advantage of the ‘too hot to work’ weather and got knuckled down in the office instead; we’ve been working incredibly hard behind the scenes on some exciting plans for the future of Ashwood. We can’t say too much just yet, but we’re getting closer every day and can’t wait to share the news with you all. Hopefully sooner rather than later 🤞🤞

𝗧𝘄𝗼-𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹
We’ve made the decision to postpone this Sunday’s Two-Phase Eventing Final. With such prolonged dry weather, the ground is simply too hard, and with no water in the water complex either, we don’t feel it’s right to run the event in the current conditions - I’m hoping most of you will agree with us.

Rather than announce another date and risk moving it again, we’ll keep a close eye on the weather and reschedule the final as soon as conditions are right. We know many of you were looking forward to it, and we really appreciate your understanding.

𝗔𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗝𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴
The Aintree Show Jumping Qualifier on 16th August is still planned to go ahead 💪

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗝𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴
With the road closure it may be that we don’t return to evening SJ for the rest of the summer, if anything changes in that regard we will make an announcement on Facebook.

𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗛𝗶𝗿𝗲
The XC course will continue to be closed and is unavailable for hire at this time. Dates for availability for the main all weather arena will go online shortly - this is just for the main arena with a set of SJ. There isn’t access to the water as there’s isn’t any!

Thank you all for your patience and continued support. We promise there are exciting times ahead at Ashwood, and we can’t wait to share them with you as soon as possible 👏👏👏

🌞 Well… July has certainly been one for the history books!

It’s got to be the quietest July ever! And not because of the rain this time 🥵

Good news, August is looking much busier, with plenty happening at Ashwood 💪

Show Jumping plus 𝘼𝙄𝙉𝙏𝙍𝙀𝙀 𝙌𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙚𝙧𝙨, 2-phase eventing 𝘾𝙃𝘼𝙈𝙋𝙄𝙊𝙉𝙎𝙃𝙄𝙋 𝙁𝙄𝙉𝘼𝙇𝙎, STARS Showing & Working Hunter, Dressage, Combined Training, and who would like to see some more 𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 Show Jumping?!

We have sadly decided not to run the event moved to this weekend, 19th July.

We have good ground and plenty of green grass, but with refunding around half the entries from the previous event and only receiving 8 fully paid new entries, the numbers are too low to run this weekend.

All entries will automatically be forwarded to final event on 9th August, so if you would like to join us then you don’t need to do anything. If you can’t make the 9th August please message us for a refund.

All entries from the hot day 🥵 have been carried forward unless otherwise advised. We have had 50:50 refunds/carried forwards so we will need more entries to run. The decision date will be Wednesday to give time for entries to come in.

☀️ Mini Eventing Cancelled – This Weekend ☀️

After a lot of thought, I’ve decided to cancel this weekend’s Mini Eventing.

The weather on the day itself doesn’t actually look too bad, but it’s the very hot weather in the run-up that’s the issue. If I keep working on the course,
mowing etc now it’s a concern the ground will just bake hard, and I’d rather keep it in good condition than spoil it for future events.

💬 I’m wondering about moving it to Sunday 19th July instead. What does everyone think?

If you’ve already entered, I can transfer your entry to the new date if it goes ahead, or the finals in August, or, if you’d prefer, just message me and I’ll arrange a full refund.

Thanks so much for your support and understanding. Sorry to disappoint anyone, but I’d rather wait and put on the event you deserve. 🐴💚
