I have the best times for Sunday at Kick On Events Forgandenny. 1 hour and 12 minutes - done and dusted. Perfect.

No time for worrying about if I can remember how to show jump properly or not.

Good luck to everyone competing this weekend at Forgandenny and elsewhere. Let us know where you are and how you get on.

Popped along to Howe Equestrian Centre tonight for a pop round the 1m and 110 on Gin to make sure I can remember how to do it before Forgandenny on Sunday. Two nice double clears, video from the 110.

It's been a busy day with coaching from Glen Lyon Equine Coaching this morning followed by emergency root canal treatment. I've had a niggling tooth for a few weeks, possibly months but I just kept ignoring it. Yesterday it decided it did hurt and now it doesn't I can confirm I bloody well have had tooth ache, I feel great now 😁.

Thanks to Tom and team for great jumping this evening.

Gin has had an easy week before the count down begins to Scone Palace International Horse Trials and our next event Kick On Events Forgandenny this Sunday.

She is now storm ready .

We hope you all manage to avoid the worst of Floris's visit.

Burgham International Horse Trials is one of our favourite events. So friendly and welcoming and time wise just about half way between mum and us so we leave at the same time and meet in the middle at Burgham.

We were lucky to get a last minute stable on site so that made everything a bit more relaxed once we were settled in. Gin is getting more mature each time and really getting used to stabling away. She settled straight in and had been lying down sleeping over night.

We were in one of the last sections of the day on Sunday and Gin was so good with the waiting around.

It was lovely to have mum there who fed us more calories in three hours than we'd eaten in three days, with home made Lasagne, lemon and blueberry cake and scones with cream and jam. Don't forget bacon, hash browns and eggs for breakfast as well. Not only that but she cleaned all my tack while I walked the cross country course as well. Thanks mum πŸ’œ.

It was a super hot competitive section with some top riders. The scores after dressage were tight at the top with two in joint first on 30.3 and four in joint third on 30.8. I was delighted to be in that bunch of four.

I am really pleased with our show jumping round despite having a pole. I am starting to believe we can do it and riding much better. After the first five or six riders had gone and not made the time allowed of 84 seconds they revised the time to 90 seconds. Gin skipped round in 81 seconds so I'm definitely riding more forwards.

After being super spooky cross country at Oatridge last time I tried a sheepskin noseband on Gin for the last phase. She enjoyed chasing the sheep and gave me a great round inside the time. Who knows if it was really the noseband that helped but she was much more enjoyable to ride so we'll keep it for the rest of the season.

Looking at the results the pole cost us the win but I am so proud of Gin's behaviour and so enjoy riding her.

First competitive outing for Crombie today in 16 months when we headed to Totleywells Equestrian for The Positive Equestrian - Steff Singleton 's Working Equitation training competition.

And guess what... he only went and won the novice class. πŸ₯‡πŸ₯‡πŸ₯🍽.

I'm so proud of him. He's been quite anxious after his time off so I wasn't sure what to expect today but he surpassed all expectations. I was really pleased with his dressage test and he tried really hard in the ease of handling and speed phases.

With a bit more practice and when he's more relaxed after getting back into the swing of competing again I think he could be really good at The Association for British Working Equitation.

Gin also came along for the experience. She was very good in the dressage, didn't really have the patience for the ease of handling and there was a sack the jockey sat nav error but we both enjoyed the speed phase with her posting the fastest time of the day so far (we didn't stay until the end).

We all had a great day out. Steff deserves a medal for running all of that on her own.
