Not sure what natural treats your dog likes? Try our barkers dozen box, a selection of treats which your dog will love. Only £12 collected from our shop, inside our crèche at Unit 32 Enterprise City.

In the box we have hairless rabbits ears, hairless venison ears, pizzle, cow hooves, rabbit skin with fur, pigs ear, sprats and duck, beef and seabass stick and chickens feet. Plus a roll of eco compostable p**p rolls.

Just a reminder this holiday season (and always)...
please DON’T walk up to dogs with your hand outstretched to “say hi and let them sniff”. Even if you think they’re friendly.

It’s common advice but it’s not good advice! This is not good doggy manners and you risk being bitten. Dogs don’t have hands and they don’t understand that weird human “handshake” ritual. Approach them while extending your hand into their personal space and they may well feel the need to protect their space and their body. This is especially the case if they are tied up.

If you really feel the need to greet a dog, let them approach you. Turn slightly side on, ask them if they’d like to come over and say hi by patting your leg and chatting quietly or making silly noises, and then *respect their answer* if they say no thanks.

You wouldn’t walk up to a stranger in the street and put your hand into their face, so don’t do it with a dog. The dog and your local ER doctor will thank you for it.

FOOD POVERTY doesn't just affect people.

Darlington’s Dog Warden team is appealing for donations of Tinned or Bagged pet food in an attempt to help struggling families and Darlingtons Stray dogs. You can make your Donations at Wilkinsons, Sainsburys on Victoria Rd or at our Offices at Central House, Gladstone St Darlington DL3 6JX.These collection points will stay indefinitley. The team will hand everything collected to the kingschurch food-bank.

This weekend is the final call for hamper orders as we’re moving house on the 18th, so I need to wrap up the Christmas hampers as we are packing the house up ready to move.
