Here at Tansley’s Tails we are always trying to find new ways to make your dogs appointment better.

We look to source the best products like shampoos, conditioners to make your bestie feel and smell amazing.

We also want to make your dog comfortable, as not everyone loves every part of a groom.

Here we see yours truly and Johnny one of the Team Tansley pack trying out some rather fetching new headwear.

We are modelling this new bit of kit to see if it does keep all those lovely dog hairs off my face but also out of Johnny’s face.

Now would I wander to the shops in it? I mean maybe, people would definitely give me some space so might make those Lidl runs easier!

So a few gaps in the coming week for summer cuts for your guys so drop me a message.

Your dog’s safety comes first. No dog has ever died from missing a walk, but sadly many dogs suffer serious heatstroke or even die from being walked in high temperatures. If the ground feels too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for paws. Early morning or late evening walks are safest, and on very hot days it’s perfectly okay to skip the walk altogether.
Grooming appointments continue as normal — our studio stays cool and comfortable thanks to air conditioning, keeping your dogs safe, calm, and cared for during the warmer weather.

Sometimes grooming isn’t just about the bath, the brush, or the perfect finish. 🐾
Today, mid-wash, this sweet boy needed a little extra reassurance. So there I was… soaked through, hugging him tightly just so he knew he was safe. 💙
At Tansley’s Tails, I don’t just focus on how your dog looks when they leave the salon — I care deeply about how they feel during every step of their visit too. For some dogs, grooming can feel overwhelming, scary, or unfamiliar, and in those moments they don’t need rushing… they need patience, comfort, and kindness.
If that means getting completely drenched just to calm an anxious pup, then that’s exactly what I’ll do. Because their wellbeing will always come before the groom itself.

You know if you had told me how much time I would spend staring at doggy posterior back when I was an engineer I would have laughed at you, or called you crazy.

It’s funny the direction life takes you, and where the curve balls come in from. Now days I spend a rather large amount of my day focused on doggy b***y.

Dogs behinds are important for a variety of reasons.

One hygiene depending on the breed - to much fur and we have potential for messes that no owner wants to have walking round the house gently wafting from room to room.

Two some dogs need their a**l glands sorting out, often the vets will do this but it’s also done here and checking forms part of the health check.

Three, well styling. If your dogs butt doesn’t match the rest of them it would be a total fashion faux pas! We can’t have that.

So that’s why everyone I spend a rather large amount of my life staring at dog b***y.

From overgrown and uncomfortable to fresh, tidy, and feeling fabulous 🐶💖

This lovely pup came in quite matted and overdue for a groom, but with some patience and care, we’ve given them a clean, comfortable makeover and just look at that happy face at the end!

Regular, on-schedule grooming isn’t just about keeping your dog looking cute (although that’s a big bonus 😉). It’s so important for their overall wellbeing:

Hi, I’m Anna, and I’m the founder of Tansley’s Tails.
I grew up surrounded by animals, my mum is a dog groomer, and our home was always full of dogs and cats. Those early years taught me the importance of patience, care, and understanding when working with animals.
After a career as an engineer and raising a family, I realised my true passion was helping dogs feel calm, safe, and cared for. That led me to create Tansley’s Tails, a grooming studio focused entirely on the wellbeing of each dog.
Every service, from puppy introductions to senior treatments, is designed to be stress-free and centred on the dog’s needs.
My goal is simple: to make every visit a calm, positive experience that leaves dogs feeling loved, comfortable and cared for.

A personal post today! Normal dog stuff will resume tomorrow I promise!

I find myself needing to replace my car as matter of urgency.

If anyone has, or knows someone, who has for sale a simple automatic that I can pop three kids in for the school run and a rugby club run (no motor way driving required) please drop me a message.

Happy to buy private if it’s a recommendation (I know nothing about cars my mechanic thinks it’s hilarious).

Also happy to travel if required as I know I have some followers/friends a distance away.
