The biggest loves in my life are my family & friends & part of my family has been the inspiration for BagPaws - my 2 Staffies, one past,one present. I found my first Staffie, Dizzy, in the yellow free ads paper advertised free to good home. I went to see her that night, she was so timid, I sat on the floor & she slithered on her belly over to me very wary, I was told the reason for giving her up
was she was too much hard work & had 2 previous homes since leaving the breeder in her short 5 years - I knew then she was coming home with me to her forever home. Dizzy was the most loving, caring & easy going dog & after 8 wonderful years with her as my best friend she died just 2 weeks before her 13th birthday. It took 4 more years before I could think about having another dog. I decided it had to be a rescue, I found the prettiest little Staffie at Eau Brink RSPCA near Wisbech, this again was love at first sight. She had been found as a stray puppy and taken in, adopted out for 2 years then taken back after the family broke up. I sat on the floor with and I knew I didn't want to leave there, her sad face as I left was heart breaking. After another visit and a home inspection I adopted the mischievous, funny, loving Poppy on 25th June 2019. Now 4 years on, she is still my best friend. I took up sewing at Christmas 2022 and found I was rather good at it, (maybe its in the genes, my great grandfather was a tailor) I have no interest in handbags but have a large array of totes and decided to have a go at making one for myself which turned out rather well. The idea of making them to sell began to grow, but I wanted to be a little different, instead of the heavy canvas grocery shopping totes I created soft slouch bags. With my Staffies as inspiration it was obvious what the decoration should be and the brand name, bags with paws as decoration - BagPaws was born. The range of bags and accessories is expanding & it is now a real family affair with my 88 year old Dad on the cutting & decorating, my Cousin Ellie creating pet Bandana's, Bow Ties and Clip on Treat bags plus much more and me making the bags.
