After some careful thought and decision due to health, we will no longer be operating the business and have ceased trading.

I have been taking the time to think about plans for this year. I would normally, by now, have the incubator out and thinking about hatching.
However, due to the Avian Flu lock down and the restrictions around moving birds, this doesn't look like it will be happening for Spring.
I have to also take into consideration this year, that I have to have spinal surgery at the end of March. My recovery will be slow and in detriment to moving brooders, cleaning etc.
With all this being said, although it saddens me not to be hearing the tiny peeps of new life, we will not be selling birds this year.
I will be looking to sell hatching eggs via eBay so please watch out for the links.
I am sorry we cannot supply our beautiful Quail this year but please be assured, we will be back!

What a crazy 4 years from lockdown curiosity to ribbon winning quail this year 🥰
But we wouldn't have done it without all of you, so a massive thank you to our customers, followers, supporters and friends! 👏🫵

Spring has sprung at Songs From The Wood Quail which means Coturnix Quail hatching eggs are now available 🥚🐣
£8.00 per dozen, postage £6.00 for 24 hour signed for with Royal Mail and this includes a very well wrapped dozen eggs!
Just a reminder, no birds being hatched until later in the year so keep your eyes peeled for that announcement 👀

A very Happy Christmas and New Year to our
Songs From The Wood Quail will be having a quiet 2024 due to building work being carried out.
Because of this we will not be hatching in Spring as usual but depending on circumstances there may be some late Summer so keep those 👀 peeled!
Don't forget, hatching eggs will be available throughout, pre orders accepted and we will keep you updated for the pitter patter of little quail feet!

That was a busy first half of the season!

Just having a little rest for this week then as of Friday 14th July we will be back to selling hatching eggs!

Things to remember:
🐣 Our Coturnix quail are kept together so there will always be a mix of colours and sizes (jumbos and standards)

🐣 They are kept outside year round, so are hardier than those which are kept in sheds for winter

🐣 We let nature do its thing! No force laying! This means in winter we do not subject the birds to false lighting. We let them have a break like nature intended
