WELCOME TO PEAK PERFORMANCE PAWS, RONNIE đŸŸ

Meet Ronnie — an 18-month-old Rottweiler who came in for his initial assessment this week.

Ronnie is a powerful young male with a lot going for him, but at the moment he also has something many adolescent dogs discover very quickly:

If nobody gives me clear boundaries, I’ll make my own decisions.

When Ronnie first arrived, he came through the door ahead of his owner and immediately challenged my presence with barking and showing teeth.

Rather than pushing into his space, we gave him the opportunity to settle, assessed what was actually in front of us and gradually started building interaction.

The picture became much clearer.

Underneath the behaviour is a very nice, clear-headed young Rottweiler who needs more structure, boundaries, engagement and consistency from the people handling him.

Once we established those expectations, Ronnie worked very well.

We introduced clearer communication, worked on attention and loose-lead handling, used turns to encourage him to follow the handler rather than make his own decisions, and discovered that his ball is a particularly valuable reward for him.

By the end of the assessment, we had engagement, play and a dog beginning to understand what was expected of him.

The aim isn’t to change Ronnie’s personality.

He’s a young, powerful Rottweiler — and that’s part of what makes him Ronnie.

The job now is to channel that dog in the right direction so that his strength and confidence sit alongside control, responsibility and clear communication.

His owners have now booked a block of sessions, so this is only the beginning.

warm welcome to this handsome little lad! ❀

This weekend I met Tomy, a wonderful 5-year-old Dachshund who’s been struggling with separation anxiety.

Like many dogs experiencing anxiety, this isn’t about being “naughty” or “stubborn.” It’s about emotions, habits, and learning that being alone can feel safe.

Together with his owners, we’ve put together a structured plan that focuses on reducing triggers, building confidence, and helping him learn to relax one small step at a time.

Progress with separation anxiety doesn’t happen overnight, but with patience, consistency, and the right guidance, dogs can learn that time apart doesn’t have to be stressful.

The story behind Zeus & Zoe


When people see trained dogs, they often only see the finished result.

They don’t see the journey.

Zeus and Zoe are two very different dogs with two very different stories.

Zeus has been with John and Sarah since he was just seven weeks old. He’s a high-drive dog with plenty of Malinois characteristics, balanced with the steadiness you’d expect from his German Shepherd heritage. From the beginning, they committed themselves to learning and giving him the structure he needed.

Zoe’s story couldn’t be more different.

Before she was even twelve months old, she’d already been through three or four homes. That’s a difficult start for any dog, especially a sensitive Malinois.

When Zoe first came to train with me, she was so overwhelmed by the environment that she emptied her a**l glands as soon as she came onto the training ground. She lacked confidence, trusted very little, and needed time, patience and understanding far more than pressure.

Fast forward a few months


Now she’s pulling to get into the training area because she can’t wait to work.

That transformation hasn’t happened because of one training session.

It’s happened because John and Sarah have put in the work between every session.

Whether it’s environmental exposure, stopping at busy service stations, visiting places like Hebden Bridge, or simply being consistent day after day, they’ve done exactly what good dog owners do.

These dogs aren’t competition dogs.

They’re family pets with working ability, and our goal has always been to help them become confident, stable and fulfilled.

The video you’re watching isn’t just about obedience.

It’s about trust.

It’s about consistency.

And it’s about what can happen when owners commit to the process.

A huge thank you to John and Sarah for the effort, dedication and love they’ve shown both Zeus and Zoe. You should both be incredibly proud of how far they’ve come.

Meet the gorgeous 2 years old French bulldog Olive. Her owners came to me for reactivity issues towards other dogs. After an initial assessment we proceeded with 1:1 sessions and I am very pleased to say that after 3 sessions the progress has been excellent. Both her owners have been working hard with olive in between sessions and it goes to show every time I see them. Great work so far guys. Keep it up👊

Meet the Gorgeous Ralph, 18 months old terrierX.
Ralph and his owner are on 1:1 with me for improving his lead manners and reactivity at times towards other dogs. Like all terriers he comes with high prey drive and at times he can be challenging for his owner. His progress has been very good and on the last outing we had at Hebden bridge on a busy day he did exceptionally well. I expect him to be like this every day and I know his owner putting the hard work in to make it happen. Together we will succeedđŸ‘ŒđŸ»đŸ’ȘđŸ»

Meet the gorgeous Newfoundland Lilly, now two years old. Lilly is a very confident female but at times more often than usual she could be reactive towards people and other dogs. I have been working on 1:1 with her owners and she has improved a lot. Her owners are putting in the hard work and it shows as she is showing us now the great dog that she can be. Now her owners feel confident to take her to very busy places around people and other dogs. She is not the finished article yet but we are getting there. The most important thing that I enjoy about 1:1 training is, to see owners grow in confidence and do all the right things with their dogs and put the hard work in. Keep up the good work guys.

Meet the Gorgeous Charlie shar pei x. He is nine months old and a what a fabulous puppy he is. His owners came to me a few months ago to help them improve his engagement with them and also his recall as well as walking nicely on the lead.They have both done a great job. He is a very lively puppy with excellent food drive and also ball drive. Both his owners have worked hard in between sessions and Charlie has improved very much. He can walk on loose lead, his recall has improved vastly as his engagement with both his owners. He has a fantastic temperament, very sociable with other dogs and great with people. It was an absolute pleasure working with Charlie and his owners. Keep up the good work guys.
