Practising some real-life training with our pups today ๐พ๐ We all stood in a circle and chatted for one minute โ without the dogs jumping on each other or getting overexcited! ๐
This might seem simple, but itโs such an important skill for everyday life โ like when you stop to chat with your neighbours or friends out and about ๐ So many dogs struggle with this because they find it hard not to say hello to every dog they see, or they get frustrated waiting.
We often see dogs barking at their owners to move on, and itโs usually because theyโve learned that barking makes things happen faster! ๐ถ๐ฌ If every time they bark, the owner stops chatting and moves on, they quickly realise, โIf I bark, my owner moves!โ โ and so the habit builds.
Teaching them to stay calm, relaxed, and patient in moments like this helps break that cycle and makes walks much more enjoyable for everyone ๐
