Many friends of the cattery will have seen or met Jessie who is currently resident in 'The Cwtch' a dedicated space we offer to for the foster of injured animals in need of respite care ahead of rehoming. We agreed to take Jessie in foster some time ago and have loved having her but she DESPERATELY needs to find her forever. Today marks day 1357 of Jessie's foster here in the Cwtch and day 1387 with Rescue Me. 1,387 days waiting for a home to call her own. Jessie is a disabled cat and has some specific homing requirements. She needs a space to call her own, a room or large area that she can live in and know she is safe despite her vulnerabilities. Adopters will receive continued support from the rescue to navigate Jessie's needs but at the moment she just needs someone able to offer 15-20 minutes a day for a warm snuggly cuddle to heat her bones and joints and some stretches to keep up her strength and mobility. What she demands in this requirement is paid back a thousand fold in love and she is the best soul to have around if you are having a bad day. She emits joy.
Jessie is a difficult rehome, but I have to believe the right place is out there for her. Can we get her a home before she reaches day 1500!!?? Hey Pear Tree Family!

We are loving feeling the signs of an approaching spring today and looking ahead to the rest of the year.
Don't forget when you book your breaks to make sure you have your cat booked in too. We only have 10 pens and they fill up quick!
Busy periods this year already include Mid to Late March, Mid to Late May, all of June, July and August and the Christmas/New Year bookings are rolling in too.

Remember, it is never to early to get those deposits in to secure your space and on that note looking ahead to 2027 there will be a bit of a change for booking in.
Drop off and Collection will still be available every day and at the same times as current opening hours, however we have made the decision that when we switch to our Winter "All by Appointment" system at the end of 2026 we will stick with it long term. So from November 10th 2026 the Pear Tree will switch to "by appointment only" opening. You will still be welcome to come and take a look around, have a chat or drop off cash deposits, you will just need to let us know when you want to pop by.
Until then we will be sticking with the current opening times 8-11am and 3-5pm every day except Tuesdays and Wednesdays which are already Appointment only days.

Happy New Year Pear Tree Family!

From today we are back to our normal opening hours and looking forward to seeing you all in 2026!
If you are looking to get booked in for the coming year please feel free to call in 8-11am or 3-5pm Thursday to Monday but remember Tuesdays and Wednesdays are for drop off and collect by appointment only.

If you dont want to brave this chilly weather or are busy getting back to work, you are welcome to drop your requests in via email to [email protected] or on WhatsApp to 07968 534 689.

Don't forget, space is limited so if you are getting your holiday booked make sure your all important fluffy family are booked in too.

Ok ok, maybe its not so much sand and sunloungers but we are off this week for some much needed R&R.
Jen is in Scotland with the Dog while Karen and the Cats enjoy some peace and quiet.

Karen and I have been hard at work giving the cattery her winter facial and adding some fantastic features to the pens.
Beautiful girls Belle and Tilly were staying for the weekend and did a great job supervising. They had so much fun trying out the new climbing posts. We are so thrilled to introduce these beautiful products to the enrichment offered here at the Pear Tree and so happy the girls approved too.

🐾🐾 ALL BY APPOINTMENT 🐾🐾

Hi Everybody! Just a quick reminder that all visits, whether to drop or collect, take a look around or pay a cash deposit are by appointment from Monday 10th November. We go back to our regular opening times on Januray 5th.

If you have booked in during this period check your invoice or Kennel Booker Account for appointment times or give us a shout if you have any doubts.
If you would like to take a look around or visit for any other reason drop me an email to [email protected], DM via our socials or WhatsApp to 07968 534 689 to make an appointment.

Please note that if you come by at any time other than that arranged it is likely you will find the gate locked and won't be able to get in so please call or message ahead and await a response if you need to change your time.

The Cattery will be fully closed from Saturday 6th to Sunday 14th December while we take holiday. Any messages and emails received in this period will be responded to ASAP but signal will be patchy so please excuse any delays.

Our lovely friend Poppy is missing from her home.

Her people say:
We’ve lost Poppy! Last seen on Sunday 21st September! Boundary Close , just off New Cut Lane, Birkdale end. She is all black neutered female and was wearing a silver luminous collar with our details on. She never usually strays far from home, so please check your garages etc if you live near by. Thanks so much. xx

Sorry folks I'm going in with the C word to let you know that we have just ONE PEN available for Christmas 2025 right now! And it is only free for a super early pick up on Boxing Day. So if you are visiting family for a few days in the run up to Christmas and want to nab the last spot give me a shout ASAP to get booked in. Space available from December 15th.
Only 3 spaces left for New Years too! Pens opening up on the 28th if you want to book a New Years Getaway or keep your kitties safe while you party into 2026.

Meet Simba, our sweet golden oldie with a heart of gold and a purr like a motorbike. At 16 years young, Simba came to us through no fault of his own — left behind when his owners were evicted, and never claimed. Despite his rough start, this gentle lad has shown nothing but love.

🧪 We ran full senior bloodwork expecting the usual – but Simba surprised us all with normal kidney and thyroid results!
He’s got some arthritis and muscle loss in his back legs and around his head, but is responding really well to daily oral Metacam. He’s gained over a kilo since coming into care, and his sparkle is returning fast.

🧸 What Simba needs in a home:

A quiet, cosy place with soft beds and gentle company

A low-sided litter tray and maybe a ramp or two for easy access

Someone familiar with (or willing to learn about) senior cat care

A kind heart that doesn’t mind giving him daily meds and a little extra TLC

😺 His personality?

Affectionate, calm and incredibly sweet

Loves ear rubs, chin scratches, and sleeping nearby

Gives the best headbumps and purrs like a tractor

May gift you a little happy dribble as a thank you for love

And when it’s mealtime? You’ll get a full-on ginger serenade — Simba doesn’t let you forget it’s dinner o’clock!

💊 Please note: Simba’s arthritis and related needs won’t be covered by insurance. You’ll need to keep him on prescribed Metacam and Fortiflora (which keeps his tummy settled). We’ll happily share his medical records with your vet.
