Tillis Tailz

Tillis Tailz animal rescue. special needs cats and other furries This page was originally created to help raise funds for our special girl Tilli.

We have decided to carry on with fundraising as there are so many cats and kittens out there that need our help. We have have several cats and kittens in our care that desperately need medical treatment so that they can find their forever homes. So please continue to support us and help us with our fundraising efforts. Meet Tilli, she has a disability called Spina Bifida. She was born with this co

ngenital abnormality. She came to us at 5 weeks old, she was tiny, and couldn't walk very well, she also could not hold her bladder and bowels. We had an xray and a cat scan to diagnose her. Spina bifida is a congenital abnormality of the spine in which the vertebrae fail to develop normally. The lumbar spine (lower back) is most commonly affected, though it’s possible for any part of the spine to be affected. Several adjacent vertebrae are usually involved, though very mild cases may affect only one vertebrae. Unfortunately, the mode of inheritance of this defect has not been determined. Other possible causes include exposure to drugs or toxins that cause birth defects, nutritional deficiencies and maternal stress during pregnancy. Tilli only has one vertebrae that is malformed so she is considered mild. Tilli is a very strong, brave and feisty little kitten who does not let it affect her. So plays just like a normal kitten, she climbs a 9 foot cat tree... she play fights with her cat family. We are trying to raise enough money for her to have an operation that would significantly help her be able to function more like a normal kitten.

Hi Everyone, you have all been such dedicated and generous supporters of tilli's cats over the past few years. I am forever grateful. I wanted to let you all know of the most recent situation. Grandma Wrinkles is still defying the odds and is going strong. But she has started mutilating herself quite drastically on a 2 monthly basis. I've been covering her steroid injections and antibiotics myself... but its got to a point that she now needs double the medication and injections monthly due to her skin irritations. She also has high blood pressure and so needs medication to control that as well. This old girl is feisty... still bites... attacks toys and likes to give all of the younger cats at least 2 swipes a day just to prove her strength... she plays like a kitten and purrs like an engine... considering we all expected 6 months from her and 5 years later she is still going strong... I can't justify euthanasia just because she needs extra meds and treatment... its killing me to even contemplate how my finances and her bills may be an issue... but at this point I cant afford to maintain the costs on top of her special diet. I'm posting some items on tilli's selling page to start trying to raise some money... if anyone has anything they don't want and can sell please post it on the fundraising page and any % donation would be so gratefully received. Thanks for listening. Angela.

Hi Everyone.... it's been a long time since I told you all about Tilii's tailz activity... it's been quiet... but far from uneventful. Most of the cats that have been helped by tilli's tailz have been financed personally by myself, along with the help of a few close friends...
Grandma Wrinkles, Wobbly Robbie, Twitch, Jasmine, Suki, Mr Tiggy Winkle, Hope, Dottie, Feral beryl and Pongo (Alex the lion cat) are still living at tilli towers... unaware that their human has not updated their adoring fans of their recent adventures and shenanigans (I'm very sorry).... But enough of them......
Some important news....

Who remembers our beautiful white and grey stray called Lizzie? She came to us badly injured with a HUGE abscess covering the entire left half of her body from neck to tail?

I will attach her Tilli post to this one so you can remind yourselves of her original story...
She has been living with an elderly lady for almost 2 years now... But it was understood by her adopter and myself that Lizzie was to live as her own pet until any circumstances changed that made it no longer possible. Lizzie's adopter is elderly and her health isn't the best but in my eyes that didnt effect my choice to let Lizzie live with her and be her companion for as long as that was possible...
Her food and vet Bill's were to be covered by her adopter until any circumstances changed that made it no longer possible.... and at that point Lizzie was automatically one of Tilli's tailz cats again and would return to me where she would live out the rest of her life as one of my cats and not be rehomed again...
well over Christmas sadly... circumstances have changed with Lizzies owner.. she has become very poorly and has been in hospital for well over a month now....

Superwoman....Lynn Taylor-Lack immediately stepped in and started visiting Lizzie in her home twice a day whilst her owner was in hospital... this has been going on for over 4 weeks now.. every day... for a least an hour so that lizzie did not get lonely or wonder why her 24/7 human companion had left her alone and unwanted just like bad happened a couple of years back...

We have had an unexpected very large vet bill to pay for over the past few days for Lizzie.... Lynn became very concerned as she wasnt eating very much at all and was acting very unwell... she got her an emergency appointment at just cats where they saw what the problem was.... she needed immediate dental work and medication over Christmas. Just cats were kind enough to squeeze her in at the last minute 2 days before Christmas for her dental... even though she wasnt a patient there and Tilli's didnt have an account with them (so so so grateful)....
We did not have any time to prepare or start to fundraise for this as her elderly adopter has been in hospital for over a month. She is too sick to even consider trying to ask her to reimburse the costs and our only option was to allow our superstar huge hearted and most valued supporter and friend Lynn Taylor-Lack pay for Lizzies bill and hope that I can reimburse her as soon as possible. I dont know many people that would have insisted on paying for Lizzie without making her wait... because she is always the first to help.... and would do anything to step.up where she can.... not just for the cats
But for me too.
I don't want Lynn to have to wait any longer than she has to to be reimbursed for her out of pocket costs... I would like to add the petrol money... time spent and countless boxes of food Lynn has given to Lizzie on top of this over the past couple of months... but I know she won't accept payment for this so the least I can do is raise the funds for Lizzies vet Bill's over Christmas....
Lizzies emergency appointment bill including medication to keep.her comfortable until her dental came to £67
and her Dental surgery bill which included 4 extractions and antibiotics and pain killers to go home with came to £455

so this is where I ask you all for your help. I have some raffle prizes...and lynn has a beautiful hand made prize... enough for a decent raffle...
but my plan will be to keep the raffle running until our target has been reached by tickets sold along with any separate donations sent to Tilli's PayPal for Lizzies bill.

Does anyone have any unwanted Christmas gifts? Wine bottles? vouchers.. anything suitable to add to the prize list? Desperate for any donations to help raise funds?

also any ideas... suggestions anything to help raise the £ to pay lynn back as quickly as possible would be so so gratefully received.....

£522 is our goal...

as far as Lizzie's future... let's wait a little bit longer and see how the elderly lady does. as I've promised lizzie that once she comes back to me... it will be her forever home for as long as she lives.
