Hi everyone,

Just a little heads-up that from 1st September, all grooming appointments will increase by £5.

As with many small businesses, the cost of running the salon continues to rise. This small increase will help me continue providing the same one-to-one care and high standard of grooming that your dogs deserve.

Thank you so much for your continued support. I genuinely appreciate every single one of you and your lovely dogs. ❤️🐾

I’ve been through my diary for the rest of the year and, as you’ll see from the photos, availability is now very limited!

All remaining appointments are for existing Northam Bears clients only. If you’d like to book one of the remaining appointments, please don’t leave it too long once they’re gone, they’re gone!

Just a couple of reminders ❤️

🕒 Please arrive on time for both drop-off and collection. This helps keep the day running smoothly and allows me to stay on schedule.

📅 Cancellations
Please give at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or rearrange. I understand genuine emergencies happen and these will be considered individually. Less than 24 hours’ notice or a no-show will be charged at the full groom price, payable before your next appointment.

📝 Cancellation List
If you’re on my cancellation list, thank you for your patience. 💕 I keep a note of everyone waiting and will always be in touch if a suitable appointment becomes available. Unfortunately, I can’t guarantee a cancellation, but please know I haven’t forgotten about you.

❄️ WE HAVE AIR CON!!! ❄️

Sorry for the late post — I’ve only just finished grooming the kids ready for a show tomorrow, but I have some very exciting news!!

We finally have air conditioning in the salon! 🙌🏻❄️

Which means… no more moving grooms around because of the hot weather, no more 5:30am starts trying to beat the heat, and most importantly, no more hot & sweaty dogs (or groomer 😂).

It’s been a long time coming, but I’m SO happy it’s finally here and we can keep the salon lovely and cool and comfortable no matter what the weather decides to do. 🐾

A massive thank you to Andy vraairconditioning for coming out and fitting it for me on a Friday evening it’s much appreciated ! 🙌🏻❄️

Although, now I’ve finally had it fitted, I fully expect that I’ve cursed the rest of the British summer… so apologies in advance to all you sun worshippers! 😂☀️🌧️

A little personal post… 💚

What a couple of weeks it’s been for Rosa!

After winning Reserve Best Special Beginners in Show at Royal Cheshire, we headed to Boston Championship Show where Rosa was awarded 1st Post Graduate, 1st Special Beginners in Breed and, to top it all off, our very first Reserve Best Bitch Challenge Certificate. She then rounded the day off with another 1st in Post Graduate at the club open show.

For those who aren’t into dog showing, a Reserve Challenge Certificate (RBCC) is a huge achievement and is awarded to a dog the judge believes is worthy of Champion status. As a result, Rosa has also earned her Kennel Club Stud Book Number and a lifetime qualification for Crufts (subject to Kennel Club confirmation). 🏆💚

Unfortunately, the day also ended with me picking up a bad ankle/Achilles sprain which resulted in a trip to A&E.

A huge thank you to everyone who was able to move their appointments at such short notice yesterday so I could get it checked out – I really do appreciate it. ❤️

I’ll be back in the salon next week, although I may be moving a little slower than usual, so thank you in advance for bearing with me while I recover!

Well, the heatwave has meant my holiday is starting a day earlier than planned! ☀️

The salon is now closed until 1st July and the kids and me and James are off to enjoy a little holiday. ❤️

My work phone will be switched off whilst I’m away, so all messages and calls will be replied to when I return.

Hopefully everyone manages to stay cool over the next few days! 🐾

☀️ Heatwave Update ☀️

The safety and welfare of the dogs in my care will always come first.

Due to the high temperatures forecast this week, I will need to rearrange all grooming appointments booked from 1pm onwards on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Unfortunately, Thursday is forecast to reach 25°C from around 8:30am, and 26 by 9am meaning temperatures will be unsafe throughout the day. As a result, all appointments on Thursday will need to be cancelled and rescheduled.

I will not groom dogs in temperatures that could put them at risk. Grooming can be stressful for some dogs at the best of times, and I am not prepared to compromise their welfare during extreme heat.

As I am already due to be away on holiday from Friday until Tuesday, I won’t be able to reschedule everyone affected this week. I will be in contact with all today.

Thank you for your understanding and for helping me put your dogs’ wellbeing first. 🐾❤️

England may have won their opening World Cup game this week, but I think Rosa and Swayze have had a pretty good week too! ⚽🐺🏆

A huge thank you to all of my lovely clients for your support and flexibility this week when I had to move a few appointments around at short notice.

Many of you know that alongside grooming, I also show my own Alaskan Malamutes, and what was meant to be one day at a dog show turned into a two day show after an unexpected qualification for a final!

I’m incredibly proud of how the dogs got on. Swayze was awarded 1st in Open and Reserve Best of Breed, while Rosa took 2nd in her breed class and won the Special Beginners Working Group before going on to take Reserve Best Special Beginners in Show. 🥈🏆

Rosa really couldn’t have done any more, and moments like these remind me why I love spending so much time with dogs both in and out of the grooming salon. ❤️

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Milo the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Handsome Milo was originally adopted a couple months ago and is a very happy and friendly boy, however it’s becoming clear he does not enjoy sharing his home with other pets so his adopters have made the decision to get back in touch with us to help. Milo is five years old and would love to be an only dog with someone who has plenty of time to give him, he loves going for a walk and can be quite strong on the lead and is good meeting other dogs out and about.
Milo is up to date with vaccinations and been castrated. If you think Milo could be the boy for you then please message us with some details and a phone number for us to get in touch 💕🐶
