Rio My Name is Rio . I was picked up as a stray dog in December and taken to Moorview Rescue. I am 8 years old and would love a new home.

Hi everyone, it’s Charlotte here, ray and Anne’s daughter and Rio’s big sister. I’ve been given access to this page for this one post and I’m grateful for it.

3 years ago in January, my dad showed me a picture of Rio and I found him cute and then told me that we might have to adopt him from Moorview. When we met him, he had only just been returned back to Moorview. When we took him out, I couldn’t believe how much energy and excitement and love that Rio had and his snorting noise which made him sound like a pig 😂. Little did we know that we would have the most amazing three years ever with this one of a kind dog.

He was my best friend. Whenever I was crying, he would come up to me and lay on me to comfort me. He made me smile/laugh uncontrollably and looked after me as if I had been there since day 1. As you can see from the pictures below, the whole family loved Rio which makes it even harder to say goodbye to him. I would just like to say thank you to Moorview because if they had never rescued Rio from the pound just a few hours from death and made sure he had his forever home for his final years and that’s what we did.

He will forever be my puppy and he has left a massive hole in everyone’s lives who have met him. Unfortunately, I can only do photos on this post but I do have videos on my phone that I will treasure forever.

RIP Rio I love you see you on the other side ❤️

Hi all, some terrible news, we had Lord Rio PTS on Thursday afternoon, his left eye was starting to close and was starting to get frequent nose bleeds with shivering and unable to eat hard treats, we took him to the vets, they sedated him done xrays and camera up his nose and found a massive tumour in his face, it was from the front teeth to the back of his head,we couldn’t see anything and Lord Rio never complained about it,but his symptoms prompted us to the vets, we put him to rest while still sedated we are absolutely devastated as a family and miss him terribly, we spent 3 lovely and fun filled years with this cuddle monster from him nicking my pillow in bed to having to squeeze in the corner of the settee when he stretches out,and even his naughty bits like wanting to fight everything in feathers and fur, your one in a million Rio

Hi All, just having a layin with the old man, I’ve now moved into a home with 3 acres of garden to run round in no more leads or other dogs to bother me 👍👍
