This beautiful girl is Lacy 🥰

Lacy has started hydrotherapy with us to help build up muscle in her fores due to suffering with collapsed carpi.

Lacy had puppies 3 years ago and stopped eating once they left her 😢 due to this, she had to go on steroids to encourage her appetite. Lacy then gained too much weight, and we are now focusing on keeping her weight down whislt keeping her strong 💪🏻

My question is... What breed do we all think Lacy is? (Clue - there's 3 😉)

🐾Good evening Moredge family🐾

Please show some love ❤️ to these two golden oldies, 17 year old Roxy and 18 year old Jessica.

They both attend hydrotherapy in our aquatic pool for various age related conditions.

Being completely weightless and with the buoyancy the water gives them, means they can both gain a range of motion that they would struggle to gain on land and can move freely without putting added strain onto their already arthritic joints.

Roxy the cairn terrier is one of our longest standing clients and has been attending hydrotherapy at moredge for over 10 years 🥰

And Jessica the Jack Russell terrier, unfortunately went blind some years ago due to a painfull eye condition and has recently had both eyes removed to relieve the pain that her redundant eyes were causing. 🥰

Both girls are brilliant and confident swimmers even at their grand old ages 👏🏻👏🏻

🐾Good evening Moredge family🐾

This is Luna ❤️ The 2 year old Tamaskan dog.

She has been attending hydrotherapy for almost a year now and is currently on our maintenance program.

Luna was born with a deformed hip and was also diagnosed with bilateral hip dysplasia with secondary osteoarthritis. 🙁

Like us, you may have never seen or even heard of a Tamaskan dog before.
This is because they are such a rare breed and a relatively new breed to the UK.

🤓The breed was formed in finnland in the 1980s and only gained the recognised Tamaskan dog breed name in 2006.

🤓The Tamaskan dog also referred to as the “mighty wolf” was selectively bred to resemble a wolf but have the temperament of a domesticated dog.

🤓The breed make up of a Tamaskan dog includes the Alaskan Husky, Alaskan Malamute, German Shepherd, Canadian Eskimo Dog, Labrador Husky and Siberian Husky.

🤓 The Tamaskan dog thrive when given a “job” and excel in working roles, such as sledging/ mushing, search & rescue, service roles and tracking but are often seen carrying out sports such as agility, canicross and hearding trials.

With all that said! We think your all agree she is one very gorgeous girl 🥰

🐾 Good evening Moredge family🐾

We would like you all to meet this very handsome boy called Enzo🥰

Enzo is a 4 year old Cane Corso that was referred to us after having TPLO surgery to his left cruciate.

Unfortunately, Enzo has cruciate disease so there is a high chance that his right cruciate could rupture. 😬

He had his first session with us today in our underwater treadmill and despite him at first not even wanting to enter the treadmill, he absolutely smashed his session. 👏🏻👏🏻

We will be working with him to help rebuild the muscle mass in his left hind limb and strengthen the ligaments in his right hind limb.

(Video in comments)

Well done Enzo 💙🧡💙🧡💙

Has your dog damaged their cruciate ligament?

The Cranial Cruciate Ligament also known as the CCL

The CCL in dogs is the same as the “anterior” cruciate ligament (ACL) in humans. 🐕

In the majority of dogs, the CCL ruptures as a result of long-term degeneration (cruciate disease) where by the fibres within the ligament weaken over time causing it to rupture.

But in some cases the CCL can rupture due to a sudden trauma or an impact.

Hydrotherapy in our underwater treadmill and in a partial weight bearing environment,
can help stabilise the joint by building muscle and strengthening ligaments around the hindlimb quarters, this can aid and speed up their recovery post or pre surgery.

If you feel your dog could benefit from hydrotherapy. Please contact one of the team on

🐾 Good evening Moredge family🐾

🇫🇷It’s all about the frenchie🇫🇷

We treated all 3 of the beauties today in our underwater treadmill.

First up, we had Storm 💗 she has now had 8 sessions with us due to suffering with patella laxation.

Then we, saw Hugo 💙He has been attending Moredge for many years on our maintenance program due to suffering with hip dysplasia.

And lastly, we saw Tallulah 💗 who has also been attending hydrotherapy for many years due to suffering with IVDD (spinal disc disease)

All three have their own little quirky ways of getting on with their hydrotherapy session.

Storm is highly food motivated and would definitely not walk as well as she does if there was not food in front of her 😂

Hugo also enjoys his treats but loves nothing more than being king of the throne and jumping up onto our treadmill seat and perching his bum firmly down 👑

And little Tallulah just loves the security she feels from holding a toy in her mouth throughout the whole of her session 🥰

If you would like to book your dog in for a initial assessment.
Please contact us on 01702 808813, [email protected] or give us a message on social media pages and one of the team will get you booked in.

🐾Good evening🐾

We would like to welcome these two new members to our Moredge family.

Sophie the toy poodle 💗
and Reggie the staffy 💙

They have both recently started their hydrotherapy journeys with us and will be receiving weekly treatment in our underwater treadmill.

Sophie is coming to us due to suffering with bilateral luxating patella’s
And Reggie’s is suffering with intermittent hind limb lameness.

We can’t wait to see how you both get on. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

 🤓Fact time🤓

The Underwater treadmill offers numerous benefits for dogs, including improved muscle strengthening, pain relief, cardiovascular fitness and enhanced mobility.

The buoyancy of water reduces weight-bearing stress on joints, making it a safe and effective tool for rehabilitation, fitness training, and weight management.

🎾The pressure of the water helps reduce swelling and inflammation, easing pain in joints and muscles.
🎾The water temperature can boost circulation, bringing healing nutrients and oxygen to affected areas.
🎾A controlled environment allows for pain-free movement, encouraging your dog to use sore or weak limbs without exacerbating the issue, we are also able to control speeds and water levels, enabling customized workouts for different fitness levels.
🎾Water provides resistance and buoyancy which allows for a greater range of motion in joints, helping to build and tone muscles, particularly important for dogs recovering from surgery or an injury.
🎾 The underwater treadmill can helps re-educate gait patterns, especially beneficial for dogs recovering from spinal injuries or those with neurological conditions.
The water can help your dog better understand their body position and movement, enhancing coordination and improving proprioception.

If your dog could benefit from hydrotherapy in our underwater treadmill.

🐾Good Evening Moredge family🐾

This handsome boy is Robin 💙

Robin has been attending hydrotherapy for a number of years due to suffering with bilateral hip dysplasia and has recently undergone femoral head and neck excision surgery to his left hind hip. 🏥

But this week he returned to his happy place 🤩(The hydrotherapy pool )🤩
After 8 weeks off from swimming.

We often hear Robin before we see him, barking with excitement from the car park and then he pops his head over the gate to let everybody know he’s arrived and is ready to JUMP into action. 😂

But much to his disgust, we are taking it slowly with him whilst he recovers from his recent surgery.

Glad you’re bouncing back to your normal self Robin ❤️ now it’s time to rebuild all that muscle 💪🏻💪🏻

Smiles all round for this handsome fellas confidence swim! 😍

This cutie is Ernie, who is attending hydrotherapy for fitness and confidence.
Ernie is 10 months old and was rescued only a few months ago and has fallen on his doggy paws 🐾

Ernie didn't get any socialising or much exercise previously, and now is learning all about the big, wide world and taking it all in his stride!

Great first session Ernie, excited for what's to come from this confident boy! ❤️

If you would like to bring your pooch for a swim to help build fitness and confidence, call us to book in and have a chat! 01702 808813 🐶
