We love working with people and dogs www.thefamilydogclub.co.uk

A family run business, Gavin and Jeanette, we are both fully qualified dog trainers, and Jeanette a behaviourist, we only use kind, reward based methods to train dogs. Helping you to enjoy your dogs is what our job is all about. We work with both owners and dogs to resolve and understand any behavioural issues they may have, to help

them feel more confident and secure and to give owners the confidence they need to train their dogs. Training dogs isn’t all about obedience, its about having a strong relationship with your dog whereby they want to work with you. We are all about having fun, and want owners to enjoy the experience as much as the dogs too. We work with a wide range of dogs and issues owners are having. We also train a lot of dogs for fun, to give them enriched lives, and in turn their owners. Behaviour Consultations are required when we need to change the behaviour of the dog and when we need to work in conjunction with a vet to look at various options of diet changes, herbal medicines, or in some cases pharmacology, to help improve the dogs life. We put some management practices in place along with a training plan, we will also look to have regular catch ups to discuss their progress, as well as on-going support.

1-2-1 Consultations -

For Training, Reactive Dogs and dogs that are aroused by the environment we offer 1-2-1 consultations here in our field, we discuss with you what could be going on and look to help you understand your dog in terms of body language, threshold, environments etc. We then work through with you what you are able to do to help your dog and reduce the behaviour or help to build their confidence. We also offer 1/2 hour social sessions with selected dogs to help your dogs to learn how to play confidently and politely with other dogs. We run a number of classes through-out the week, with 3 classes on a Saturday, regular Sunday classes, Monday and Wednesday night classes. 🚨 When visiting our reserves we are asking for all dogs to be kept on leads.

This comes after ongoing concerns from our staff over the rise of wildlife and livestock worrying as well as the trampling of delicate areas of flora.

💁 Our nature reserves' primary function is to provide a safe space for wildlife to exist. When dogs are allowed to run free many animals flee their nests, abandon their young, become exhausted, or in some cases are injured or killed.

🐄 We also graze livestock on many of our nature reserves to help with natural land management. Unfortunately cases of livestock worrying have increased across our sites. This is not only dangerous to the animals and other visitors but it also creates extra work for our already stretched team to rescue animals at all hours of the day.

Please be respectful to the people and wildlife on our nature reserves and keep dogs on a lead.

Whats everyone doing to keep their dogs nice and cool?

For us its early walking, then indoors most of the day, our house is quite cool, and then small amounts of time outside, followed by evening walk?

☀️🐾 WEATHER PAWCAST UPDATE 🐾☀️

We know lots of you have been keeping an eye on the weather ahead of next weekend — and so have we!

The safety and wellbeing of every dog attending is always our top priority. We’ve been constantly tracking forecasts via reputable weather sources, including the Met Office, and the good news is… this heatwave is on its way out! 🙌

The current forecast is looking much cooler, with temperatures expected to peak at around 22°C during the hottest part of the day and with some cloud — pawfect weather for a fun-filled day out with your four-legged besties. 🐶💛

Here’s what we’ll have in place across the weekend to help keep dogs cool and comfortable:

💦 Not one, not two, but THREE dog pools
💦 Multiple paddling pools
💦 Water mutt refill stations across the site
💦 Pirate Pete on his ATV water refill bowser patrol all weekend topping up bowls and pools — give him a wave, he never says no to a dog cuddle 😂
🌳 Plenty of natural shade from trees
⛺ Marquees and shaded chill-out spots

Our top tips?
🐾 Come early
🐾 Take regular rest breaks
🐾 Keep hydrated
🐾 Enjoy plenty of chill-out time soaking up those Dogstival vibes

We can’t wait to see you all next weekend for an amazing weekend of waggy tails, happy pups and festival fun! 🐕✨
