That time of year is coming - and Lauren I don’t mean Christmas 🤣
🐶🌱 Grass # Seed Season 🌱🐶
Grass seeds may look harmless, but they can pose a serious risk to our dogs .
They can become lodged between toes, inside ears, under eyelids, in noses, beneath the skin and even inhaled !
Once attached, they can travel through tissue, causing pain, infections, abscesses, and in some cases requiring veterinary surgery to remove.
Keep an eye out for signs such as:
🔍 Excessive licking of paws
🔍 Head shaking or scratching at ears
🔍 Sneezing or nasal discharge
🔍 Swelling, redness, or limping
After walks, especially in long grass or grassy fields, take a few minutes to check your dog’s paws, ears, coat, and eyes.
A quick inspection could save your pet a lot of discomfort and a costly trip to the vet.
Please share this post to help keep our dogs seed free this summer! ❤️🐾
The photo below are seeds I took out of a Cocker Spaniel feet last summer whilst in for a groom !!!! 👀👀
