Our dog boarding and day care business is run from our dog friendly home in Bitterne Park, Southampton. We live very near to Riverside Park which has lot of open space for dogs to run and play and there is good access to the river if they want to swim or just have a paddle. We have a fully fenced garden and plenty of space if your dog wants some quite time. All dogs are treated as family and will

receive lots of love and attention. We do our best to keep to their usual routine whilst you are at work or away on holiday and we take into account their usual sleeping place whether that be in a crate, in their own bed, on our sofa or upstairs with us. We have a 7-year-old Chocolate Labrador X Springer Spaniel called Barney that we rescued from a local dog rescue charity when he was 3 years old. Since then, we have made many friends with lovely dogs and we now go on lovely pack walks at weekends in woodlands in and around Southampton. Barney’s Dog Boarding was created out of our love for dogs and they seem to love us too. We were very often asked to look after dogs for friends and people that we met on our walks so we decided to turn our love of dogs into a business. We have also just started to foster dogs for a local dog charity in the hope that we can help them prepare for their forever homes. All dogs must be fully vaccinated and up to date with any flea/worm treatment.

☔🐾 Rainy Day Romp in the Fields 🐾☔

Little Pip is back with us for another holiday, and today we welcomed Tito for his trial session alongside Rosie and Wilson. We headed out fully prepared for wet weather, and the rain certainly didn't disappoint. It was rain, rain and even more rain from start to finish! 🌧
Pip and Tito made the most of their off-lead time, charging around the fields with endless energy and taking every opportunity to burn it off. Wilson and Rosie were delighted to spot Willow and her friends and immediately ran over to say hello, tails wagging furiously 🌿
🌧 Despite the soggy conditions, we stopped for a game of ball in the long, wet grass. It quickly turned into a game of sniff-and-search as the ball kept disappearing into the greenery, much to the dogs' amusement. Their noses were certainly put to good use today!
💦 To round off our adventure, we stopped by the pond for a splash about before heading home. Pip and Tito happily jumped in, and then came a moment I've been waiting for... Rosie finally realised she could actually swim! It may not have been entirely intentional on her part, but she paddled her way through the water all by herself. I was so excited that I couldn't help cheering her on from the bank. 🎉🐾💦
🌧 The rain may have soaked us all through, but it certainly didn't dampen anyone's spirits. The dogs had a fantastic time exploring, running and playing together, and by the end of the walk everyone was more than happy to head back to the car, wrapped up in their cosy drying coats for the journey home. 🐕🌧️💚

Our evening adventure took us down to the river with Teddy, Wilson and Rosie. 🌅💦🐾
🐾 It was a warm evening and, with three water-loving pooches, there was only one way to finish the day... a walk through the park and a splash in the river!
💦 As soon as Teddy and Wilson realised where we were heading, they charged off ahead at full speed. Rosie ran with them but soon stopped to check in before racing back to us, the good girl that she is. ❤️
💦 The trio had a wonderful paddle and splash before we continued our walk towards the bridge. That's when the boys decided it would be a brilliant idea to head back into the river. Normally that wouldn't have been a problem, but with the tide out, they found themselves ankle-deep in thick black stinky mud instead! 🤣
💦 Rosie went to investigate what they were up to and soon returned looking just as muddy as the boys. Three mucky pups later, we had no choice but to head back to the bay so everyone could wash off before going home.
💦 Perhaps they knew exactly what they were doing all along... one last swim before bedtime! 🤣💦🐾❤️

🌼🐾 Countryside Capers and daisy Path Adventures! 🐾🌼
🐻 Today was a special one as Teddy arrived for his trial sleepover, while Freddie came to spend the day with us. After some excited greetings, we headed off to the fields with Rosie, Wilson, Milo and Ralphy for a countryside adventure.
🌿 It didn't take long for Teddy and Freddie to become firm friends. The pair tore through the long grass together as if they'd known each other forever, bouncing and racing across the fields with huge smiles on their faces. Not wanting to miss out on any of the fun, Ralphy made it his mission to join every game, charging after them wherever they went.
🌿 Meanwhile, Wilson, Milo and Rosie enjoyed their own style of adventure, weaving through the grass and stopping regularly to investigate every interesting scent, rustling leaf and mysterious patch of countryside that caught their attention.
🌼 The walk along the daisy-lined paths was absolutely beautiful today. The flowers are in full bloom and created the perfect backdrop for our happy little gang. Best of all, every dog was wonderfully behaved, staying together as we explored the countryside, which made for such a relaxed and enjoyable walk.
A day full of new friendships, wagging tails, daisy-filled views and plenty of happy memories. 🌼🌿🐕🐾❤️

Gorgeous George came for his usual weekly daycare day and enjoyed a trip to the park with Rosie and Wilson. 🐾🐶❤️
🐾 George was delighted that we brought along his favourite squeaky tennis ball for him to chase. Unfortunately, naughty Rosie and Wilson kept stealing it, even though they had another ball to play with! It seemed that everyone wanted the squeaky one, much to George's frustration. 🎾😄
🐾 Eventually, Rosie and Wilson lost interest and went racing off to splash around in the river, leaving George in peaceful possession of his beloved ball. He was very happy to have it all to himself at last!
🐾 We managed to finish our walk just before the rain arrived, although Rosie and Wilson were already soaking wet from their river adventures. 🌧️💦
🐾 A fun-filled day all round, with plenty of play, chasing, and splashing! 🐕💕

🌧️🐾 Rain? What rain? Today’s gang decided that a little water falling from the sky wasn't going to stop the fun... even if it did leave us all looking like we'd been through a car wash!
🐾The wet weather continues and, unlike yesterday, we weren't blessed with sunshine. We got absolutely soaked from head to toe, right through to the skin! ☔💦
🐾 Bailey and Kai came to spend the day with Rosie and Wilson, and Milo and Ralphy joined everyone for our adventure in the fields. Sensible little sausage dog Bailey wasn't taking any chances and was wrapped up in his cosy warm coat. Meanwhile, poor Milo's white fur made it look as though his mascara had run in the rain! 😂
🐾 Kai was delighted when he discovered a stick hidden in the long grass and spent the start of the walk proudly trotting and zooming around with it. Rosie and Ralphy wasted no time getting their daily dose of zoomies, charging through the long grass and chasing each other at full speed. 🌾💨
🐾 Wilson, on the other hand, was living his best rainy-day life. While the rest of us searched for shelter, he stood happily in every puddle he could find, barking enthusiastically and begging us to splash him even more! 🌧️🐶💦
🐾 By the time we made it back to the car, every dog was thoroughly drenched, muddy and very pleased with themselves. Drying coats were quickly deployed, towels worked overtime, and everyone settled down for the journey home warm, cosy and dreaming of their next adventure. 😴❤️🐾

🌦️🌳 Woodland Adventures with Zelda, Rosie & Wilson 🐾😊
🐾 Zelda joined Rosie and Wilson for a lovely day out in the woods today. We set off in torrential rain, fully prepared to get completely drenched, but it felt as though we were being looked after. By the time we arrived, the rain had stopped, the clouds parted and we were blessed with warm sunshine and blue skies for our walk. ☀️💙
🐾 The trio made the most of the beautiful weather, enjoying plenty of ball chasing and zoomies on the wet grass. Zelda, Rosie and Wilson took turns racing after the ball and dashing around together, full of energy and excitement. 🎾💨
🐾 After their run around, we headed into the woods for a gentle wander. The earlier rain had transformed the woodland floor into a treasure trove of scents, bringing all sorts of interesting smells to the surface. Noses were down and tails were wagging as they explored every path and patch of undergrowth, thoroughly enjoying their sniffari adventure. 🌲👃🐕
🐾 We couldn't have timed it better. The rain stayed away for the entire walk, allowing us to enjoy the sunshine and fresh woodland air before it returned just as we were driving home. A very lucky and enjoyable outing with this wonderful trio. ❤️🐾☀️

Cooper came to spend the day with us today and wasted absolutely no time getting stuck into the fun with Rosie, Wilson and Frankie! 🐾❤️ Joined by Milo and Ralphy on our walk, the gang headed off to the fields where they instantly disappeared into the long grass like a pack of happy little deer bounding through the wilderness. 🌿🌼
Today was also Frankie's final walk of his holiday with us before heading home, and he was determined to make the very most of it! 🥰 He spent ages chasing Cooper around the fields before switching his attention to Ralphy for some enthusiastic rough-and-tumble wrestling matches. Between the zooming, chasing and play-fighting, those three certainly kept us entertained! 🤣🐕
Meanwhile, Milo, Wilson and Rosie had much more important business to attend to. The sniffing committee was in full operation today, with every scent needing a thorough investigation. Their noses barely left the ground as they carefully explored every inch of the common. 👃🐾
The daisies were somehow even more spectacular than yesterday. Standing waist-high along both sides of the paths, they transformed the walk into a sea of white petals swaying gently in the breeze. It really was one of those days where you can't help but stop and admire the view. 🌼🌼🌼
One thing that has changed dramatically is the natural pond, which has now completely dried up. The pond bed looks more like a scene from a drought-stricken desert, with dry, cracked earth stretching across what was once full of water. Nature is always changing and it's amazing to see the difference from just a few weeks ago.
A beautiful walk, in a beautiful setting, with a beautiful bunch of dogs. The perfect way for Frankie to finish his holiday adventures before heading home. 🌼🌿🐾❤️

🐾 Teddy's Trial Day Adventure! 🐾
Today we welcomed lovely Teddy for a trial day with us. After arriving this morning, we headed straight out with Rosie, Frankie and Wilson for an adventure in the fields, where we met up with Willow and her friends.
It didn't take long for the excitement to begin. Frankie suddenly burst into a case of the zoomies, tearing through the long grass with his usual enthusiasm. Teddy was immediately tempted into the fun and raced after him, the pair charging through the field together and occasionally stopping for a playful tumble before setting off again.
As we wandered along the paths, we were delighted to see that all the daisies lining both sides had finally bloomed. We have been waiting in anticipation for weeks, and they certainly didn't disappoint. The beautiful white flowers looked stunning against the lush green fields and made a perfect backdrop to our walk. 🌼💚
The ball soon became the centre of attention, with Willow, Rosie and Wilson racing through the long grass in pursuit of it. Frankie and Teddy were more than happy to join in too, taking turns chasing after the ball and bounding back across the field with their friends.
A fantastic trial day for Teddy, filled with zoomies, play tumbles, ball games, new friendships and fields full of beautiful daisies. We look forward to seeing him again soon! 🐶🐾🌼

Frankie, Wilson and Rosie enjoyed a lovely trip to the park today for some fresh air, fun and plenty of playtime. We started with a stroll over to the green where the dogs had a great time chasing each other around, enjoying a few ball games before making our way towards the river.
On the way, we passed the sand pit and Rosie simply couldn't resist stopping for a dig. After enthusiastically creating her latest excavation project, she was suddenly struck by a case of the zoomies and tore around the grass at top speed. Her excitement was contagious and it wasn't long before Frankie and Wilson joined in, with all three dogs racing around together and having a wonderful time.
As soon as we reached the river, the two crazy spaniels charged ahead and jumped straight into the water without a second thought. Frankie followed close behind, although he opted for just a quick paddle rather than a full on dip. After plenty of splashing and playing in the river, the dogs enjoyed another energetic game together which soon had them dry enough to hop back into the car, happy, tired and ready for a well-earned rest at home. 🐾💦🌿

Happy 7th Birthday, Rosie! Here's to many more adventures, treats, and wagging tails 🎂🐾🐶❤️
Rosie had the best time surrounded by all her furry friends, enjoying lots of playtime, tail wags, and birthday fun. The highlight of the day was her delicious birthday cake, which she happily shared with all her friends! ❤️
Thank you to everyone who came along to make Rosie’s special day so memorable. Seeing our birthday girl so happy and celebrating with her friends made our hearts full. 🐶🎈🎁
