Are you aware that new legislation relating to dog attacks on livestock comes into force tomorrow, strengthening the powers available to police to deal with incidents involving dogs worrying or attacking farm animals?

Livestock worrying is a serious issue in the UK countryside and can cause severe injury, suffering, and even death to animals such as sheep, cattle, horses, and other farm livestock. Even dogs that are normally well-behaved can instinctively chase animals if they are not properly controlled.

It is important that you remain vigilant when walking dogs in rural areas or anywhere livestock may be present.

Your Responsibilities When Walking Dogs Near Livestock:

• Always keep dogs under close control when walking in the countryside.

• Dogs should be placed on a lead if livestock are nearby or if you are entering fields where animals may be present.

• Pay attention to countryside signage and follow local access guidance.

• Avoid walking through fields containing livestock wherever possible.

• Never allow dogs to chase, bark at, or disturb farm animals.

Even a dog that appears playful can cause panic among livestock, leading to injuries, miscarriages in pregnant animals, or animals becoming separated from their young.

So sad to hear that we lost Bob the Cocker today (Berb the durg). Our hearts go out to my old mate Steve at such a sad time. He'd been a regular boarder since April 2014 and is going to be such a miss to all of us here x

Polite reminder- If you're contacting me via my website, please leave a message if you would like me to reply.

If the "your message" section is left blank, I have to assume you're a dodgy foreign SEO company who's out to scam me as that's what they do.

Thank you.

Having a play in the snow on our last "dog free" day. Star is wearing an Equafleece to protect her stomach as she still has a stitch left after her surgery in December. It normally only gets used as a drying robe after she's been swimming.

It was Hugo's birthday last week, and he brought his birthday cake along to share with his boarding buddies. Star, little Ruby, Sprocket and Lexi all got to indulge. But don't worry Buddy, we saved you a piece so you won't miss out!

That time of year already! A HUGE thank you to everyone who has used my services over the past year and kept a roof over our heads.

I did my last walks of the year today and I’ll be closing the doors on the 22nd of December once the last of the boarders have went home. I reopen on the 5th of January, my first proper Christmas holidays since 2021 so I’m making the most of it!

There has been a revamp to my prices and services, I'll get a copy of these out to everyone ASAP. Don't worry, I'm still really competitive considering I offer a premium 1-2-1 dog walking service (no group walks, lost dogs or any other nonsense) and have a fully insured and NarpsUK registered 5 star dog boarding licence, but as always, feel free to shop around if you're not happy.

So all that's left is for me to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a peaceful and prosperous New Year. Stay safe, keep the chocolate away from the dogs and I'll see you all in 2026.

It was a quiet day yesterday and yet I still managed to hit 22,000 steps wandering aimlessly with Star once all the work was done. I don't know how I'd manage being stuck inside a factory nowadays?
