Jackie contacted us as Poppy had a number of issues related to leaving the house.
Poppy would panic when leaving the home, and wouldn't go past the front of her car unless the car door was open - going for a little walk around the neighbourhood was impossible! Even when you opened the front door, Poppy would just shut down.
Jackie would rent a fenced field for Poppy to play in too, but after 15 minutes, Poppy would want to return home.
We worked a lot on building Poppy's confidence and now she is able to leave the house to go for a little walk up and down the street. Poppy is still a little hesitant, but as time goes on, she will feel more at ease about leaving the home and going for longer walks 😊
Jackie has also updated us that Poppy is now able to play in the enclosed field longer, enjoys the experience more and is now able to switch off and relax when they sit at the picnic table .
Massive well done to Jackie for keeping up the training! This can be such a hard thing to work on and it can leave people very discouraged when progress is slow in the beginning, but she has kept up the hard work and it shows 🐾
Poppy isn't perfect yet, but we are dedicated to showing people what real life dog training is like in an effort to help people have real expectations about how long things can take, and what progress looks like in the real world.
