We went showing!!!! 🤩

I felt wayyyyy out of my league as I’m a newbie to showing but we gave it our best effort and still walked away with a 3rd and a 4th 🥳

I’m 100000% biased but I’m so in love with my little mare 💗

I’ve been feeling a little run down where work went crazy. I’ve barely been home between working, sorting out the horses, returning back competing and being away to top it off!

It was lovely being able to spend some time dying in bed especially when my little shadow Charlie went and hunted me a leaf. It was all then far too exhausting so she had to push me out of my bed so she could take a snooze 😴

Teddy loves his time with Auntie Jade 💙 Jade has been such a huge help with fixing Teds legs and helping strengthen them. He wouldn’t be able to charge around like he does without her and we are forever grateful she helps keep Team Phillips in tiptop condition❣️

Debated sharing this one on social media but I feel it’s really important to raise the awareness of the effect that fireworks can have on animals.

Unfortunately a few Sundays ago Jlo colicked due to fireworks being set off in close proximity from 3 different houses. It wasn’t even bonfire night so why where they still being set off? 😡Those who know her know she isn’t normally bothered by them but this time they were just too much for her. I can’t understand how fireworks aren’t banned yet or at least silent fireworks only 😢

It was awful seeing her so distressed and being powerless to help her. I’m grateful that she pulled through with big thanks to Ralph but perhaps people may reconsider their choices next time they set one off?

I’m grateful we got lucky and that she’s perfectly okay now but sadly not everyone does 😔

Please help make a difference ❤️‍🩹

Butter wouldn’t melt in his perfect little tired mouth 🥴

Jack is normally my golden child but the last few weeks he has been awful at loading. Once he’s on the box he is absolutely fine, travels beautifully and if JLo is already on there just walks straight up. Try to take him somewhere on his own and it turns into a patchy. He’s become too reliant on JLo being there 🤦‍♀️

Lunge lines sometimes work, treats - he isn’t interested, moving his legs one by one - he doesn’t understands and just moves it back down the ramp, I won’t do the winching method and I’ve tried the whole lunging in front of the box etc etc. Please someone help a girl out with tips??? I just want to get back taking him out solo to places!

Rather boring update from me, I wasn’t really able to do much over the last few weeks as I badly damaged my middle finger and had to have it butterfly stitched after it got stuck in a door 🤣

It’s amazing how such a small injury on one singular finger can cause such a large impact on your day to day operations. Holding the reins was awful as I couldn’t bend it, holding a bow was just out of the question an even things like trying to get dressed was awkward as hell 🙈

We’re fully healed up now after a traumatic time, and ready to start sharing what we’ve been up too 😁

Even when I was away in the USA I couldn’t resist promoting the British Horseback Archery Association merchandise 😆

A pretty clever way of showing how waterproof and decent it is, if you ask me 😉

Hey everyone 👋🏻

I’ve been loving catching up with some old students and meeting lots of new ones at the same time! I’m aware I don’t post on here that much and for that i’ld like to apologise (I am however very active on TikTok with the ponies growing their own fan base🤭), it gets a bit hard trying to balance work, personal life, keeping the horses fit and everything else that gets thrown into the chaotic mix that is my life!

I promise I’m still very much teaching and still taking books, I’m just behind the scenes a little bit more working on some very EXCITING projects. My hands are tied with what I’m allowed to say so there’s not too much of an update for now but I’m hoping to be able to share more with you all in the next few weeks/months!!!! ❤️

I am away travelling a fair bit over the next few weeks, even as I write this I’m currently sat in the Netherlands! Please please get in touch with me if you would like to book a lesson as availability is getting low!

For now, here’s a video of princess JLo showing everyone what a big girl she is 🩷

Maybe you’re hard on yourself because you keep raising the bar of where you want to be 🥷 I’m my own worst enemy and incredibly harsh on myself when I make any type of mistake. But someone reminded me recently that I’m where I dreamed off being 5 years ago - strong and well enough to ride again, happy in a saddle and getting to create memories again with my horses 🥰

Not only was I representing Essex at Nationals, I was also joined by Aaron, one of my lovely students! It’s the first time I’ve had a student at Nationals and wow what a performance Aaron and Jack put on together!! Jack has never walked down a track so beautifully before and Aaron’s shooting was top draw 👌🏻

Aaron took 3rd place overall in the Walk Championships 🤩👏🏻

Aaron has worked so hard over the last few months fine tuning his nocking and getting used to Mr Speedy Pants. It was so lovely watching the pair of them 🥰

My goal for next year is to have more of my lovely students join us!!

Realised that I’m a bit behind on the socials 🙈

My life has only somehow gotten more chaotic and social media fell to the side a little but I’m going to do myself a promise and try to update at least a few times a week 😆

Jack and I came back from the Nationals with a solid 8th place in the Senior Category and 13th overall! 🤩

We had to have our typical coffee break pre competition 🤣

I was very pleased with how well Jack behaved and how lovely he was running. He was pulling up so beautifully and I really couldn’t be happier. It was so wonderful catching up with old friends and meeting new 😁

In the lead up to Nationals, I made some bold decisions and swapped up our tack a bit. Some may remember Jack used to be in a grackle and a Dutch gag with a martingale when we first started out together 3 years ago. He was an incredibly strong boy. After mum, Lewis and I spending months working with him in the school, I realised we could possibly get rid of the martingale. The martingale came off and then I thought that there was no reason he couldn’t go back to being in a full cheek bit. I’m a big believer to up the bits strength where applicable but riding in a Dutch gag on a snaffle ring seemed a bit daft. Once Jack was starting to chill out a bit more I then decided to swap him back to a cavesson noseband and I haven’t looked back!! Been the best move for the pair of us and I think it makes him look even more handsome 🙈

Sometimes horses are a learning curve, you grow and learn together!!! Jacks happier since it’s been done and moving forward it’ll be our to go too 😁
