It’s been a busy summer so far, with a big house move and juggling the school holidays with the kiddos!

We really appreciate your patience and understanding while we’ve been navigating this big life change.

The biggest part of the move is now behind us, and we’re settling in nicely. Once the children return to school and the usual routine resumes, it’ll be back to business as usual - with more regular availability and plenty of pampering for your lovely dogs! 🐶✂️

Thank you for sticking with us through the changes. We can’t wait to welcome all our wonderful customers, old and new, as we head into the new school year. 💙

🐾 A Little Update from Wessex Dog Grooming 🐾

Just a little note to let everyone know that I won’t be taking on any new customers for the time being.

With the school holidays just around the corner, an impending house move, and life being a little hectic, I need to make sure I can continue giving my existing customers and their dogs the care and attention they deserve.

I’ll be balancing that with making sure my kids get what they need right now as we get our move sorted. 💞

If you’re already booked in, your appointment will go ahead as planned – there’s no need to worry.

I may be a little slower than usual replying to messages during this busy period, so I’d really appreciate your patience and understanding. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

You’ll probably spot my protégé in training making the occasional appearance too… 😉 I absolutely love that my children want to get involved, helping with our own dogs out of hours. That’s what it’s all about – showing them how we learn, grow and build our future, one step at a time. ❤️🐶

🌞 Important Notice – Hot Weather Grooming Arrangements 🌞

With the current hot weather, the welfare and safety of your dogs remains our top priority.

To help keep all dogs as comfortable as possible, we’ll be streamlining our grooming services this week and making a few adjustments to our daily schedule.

As a result, I won’t be taking on any additional appointments this week. If there are any concerns or changes regarding existing bookings, I will contact affected customers directly.

Thank you for your understanding and support while we work to keep your furry friends safe and comfortable during the heat. 🐾

Brushing your dog for just 5 minutes a day can make a huge difference! 🪮

Regular brushing helps:

✔️ Prevent painful mats and tangles
✔️ Remove dirt and loose fur
✔️ Spread natural oils for a healthier coat
✔️ Let you spot lumps, bumps, or skin changes early

Little and often is always better than waiting until the coat becomes difficult to manage 💙🐶

We’ve loved meeting so many lovely dogs (and their humans!), enjoying the atmosphere, and meeting plenty of muddy paws along the way! ☀️🐾

💦 Top Tip after a muddy day out:

Before giving your dog a full bath, rinse their legs and tummy with lukewarm water first to loosen the mud. This helps stop dirt rubbing into the coat and makes shampooing much easier. A towel by the door is always a lifesaver too! 🛁

☀️✂️ Should you shave your dog short for summer? Not always! 🐶

A lot of coats actually help regulate temperature and protect skin from the sun - especially in double-coated breeds.

Instead of shaving, regular brushing and deshedding can help remove trapped fur, improve airflow through the coat, and keep your dog much more comfortable in warm weather. 🪮🐾

Every dog is different, and the right groom depends on their breed, coat type, age, and lifestyle.
