As promised, a quick update on our closing down sale.
We have managed to clear a lot of stock and would like to say thank you for all the custom.
I have to say, that I have really enjoyed some of the stories that our customers have told us especially the ones of their memories of coming to get their first pet with their mum and dad and a lot of these people are now parents and even grandparents themselves, which reminds me just how long we have been here! But the downside is it does make me feel a bit old!😂

I know a lot of people have been waiting for this, so from tomorrow to finish off our final week, everything in store will be at least 50% off rrp, apart from pet food and bedding which will now be at least 20% off rrp.

Once again thank you for all your kind and sincere comments, I look forward to seeing many of you before we close

We would like to start off by saying a big Thank you
We have been extremely overwhelmed by all of the lovely comments both on social media and in store from our customers regarding the closure of our store and our presence and service in Shirley over the last 45 years. My parents who sadly are no longer with us, who started the business in 1980 would have been extremely proud that after all these years our business was appreciated so much.
It is difficult to judge but I am pretty sure that our last trading day will sadly be either Friday 26th or Saturday 27th September (11 days from tomorrow) but will let you all know
However, for now we still have plenty of stock still available at even more discounted prices and would love to see our customers benefit from a bargain or two (many products up to 50% & 70% off rrp).

It is with deep regret that The Pet Centre Shirley will cease trading this month.
Many people will know we have been trading in Shirley since 1980 but unfortunately we have decided that the time is right to call it a day.
There are numerous reasons for this but of course the main one is the loss of sales due to online shopping & discount stores etc which makes it not viable to carry on. However, our grooming service will carry on operating in the block under a new name, The Bark Beautique (after all, you can’t groom a dog on the internet, at least not yet!)
We shall of course make another statement later in September but for now we would like to advise all our customers that our closing down sale will start tomorrow, Thursday 4th September and will carry on whilst stocks last.
We cannot at this stage give an exact closing date as we don’t know when this is will be.
Obviously all completed loyalty cards and outstanding credit notes will be honoured in this time.
We hope to see you all before we close, maybe you can grab yourself a bargain.

However, we now find ourselves in a position of looking for another person, possibly 5 afternoons a week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility. Ideally a more mature person with retail experience.
