The weather is heating up, and while it’s lovely to enjoy the sunshine, please think carefully before taking your dog out during the hottest parts of the day.

When temperatures reach over 20 degrees, especially with the sun shining, many dogs can start to struggle.

With the forecast predicting 25 degrees from Saturday onwards, our advice is to walk your dogs early in the morning or later in the evening, when it’s much cooler.

Please make sure your dog has access to fresh water throughout the day and plenty of shade if they are spending time in the garden.

Avoid long walks, family day trips, busy events or letting them sit out in the midday sun. Dogs can overheat very quickly and may find it difficult to cool themselves down.

Enjoy the sunshine, but please keep your dogs safe.

612 individual people. That’s a crazy amount in such a short space of time.

The dog community are upset. They have every right to be upset.
Closing our doors would be detrimental to so many of us including the dogs we are desperately trying to save.

Please carry on sharing, liking, reposting. Thank you so much for your support 💚

A heartbreaking reminder this spring

As tulip fields come into bloom, many people are heading out to enjoy their beauty, but they can pose a very real danger to our dogs.

This week, BBC News reported the tragic death of a dog after ingesting part of a tulip plant, a devastating reminder of how serious this risk can be.

Tulips are toxic to dogs, especially the bulbs, and can cause vomiting, diarrhoea, drooling and, in severe cases, heart or breathing complications.

We would strongly advise not taking your dog to tulip fields or similar attractions. It simply isn’t worth the risk.

If you believe your dog has eaten any part of a tulip, please contact your vet immediately.

We share this not to alarm, but to help keep dogs safe. A little extra awareness can make all the difference.

Extreme leave it 🤣😂 🥎 ⚽️ displaying the terrible ball skills of the trainers 🙄
The 3 dogs on the right and leela top left were all off lead and did superbly well, equally the other younger/newer dogs on lead were brilliant too
