Halloween has officially landed with the YourVets Smethwick crew!ππ»
π Fireworks season can be stressful for our pets β but a little preparation goes a long way! π
Here are some simple ways to help keep your furry friends calm and safe:
πΆ Create a safe space: Set up a cosy spot indoors with their bed, toys, and familiar smells.
π΅ Mask the noise: Close curtains, turn on the TV or some calm music.
π§ββοΈ Stay relaxed: Pets take cues from us β keep calm and act normally.
π« Donβt punish or over-comfort: Let them hide if they want to; forcing them out can make things worse.
πΎ Plan ahead: Walk dogs before dark and keep cats indoors during displays.
π Try calming aids: Products like Adaptil, Zylkene, Nutracalm , pet remedy and similar supplements can really help β ask us for advice.
π©Ί If your pet struggles badly: Speak to your vet β there are safe short-term options that can make a big difference.
β¨ A bit of planning and reassurance can make fireworks night much less frightening for your pet! β¨
