WE ARE ANGRY๐คฌ
๐๐ฌ neutering ๐ซ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐ ๐๐ก๐จ๐ข๐๐?
No. Itโs not an option you may or may not want to take. Itโs not really a choice either. If you are a responsible owner, there is only one right thing to do.
Look at this. Mum was last seen 3 days before we were notified. People discovered them 2 days before.
One dead.
One barely alive.
One in very bad shape.
One extremely weak.
And two strong enough to get out โ and thanks to them, people found the others.
We are angry. Very angry. Angry that these kittens had to lie in their own p*e, holding onto their dead sibling, barely alive, when all of this could have been prevented if someone had neutered mum.
But listen to this. Eight months ago, we got a call from the house two doors down about an injured cat. At the time, we could only assess the situation and asked them to call us back with an update later that evening. But we noticed a lot of cats hanging around. People admitted they were feeding many strays โ over 15 of them.
We offered to help trap and neuter them. They never got back to us.
Instead, they contacted a shady rescuer who collected the injured cat, dumped it at a vet as usual, and completely failed to address the massive problem developing there โ and how quickly it could turn into a colony of 150 cats.
Now we have:
1 dead kitten who suffered for God knows how long,
several fighting for their lives,
others traumatised and emaciated,
and a mum cat who is either dead or seriously ill.
Neutering is not an optional decision. If you choose to have a cat, this is your primary responsibility. Failing to neuter leads to exactly these situations: kittens suffering.
Cat Welfare Luton are currently trying to save them after taking them in last night. Please consider donating to support their work.
And once again โ donโt just feed strays if you are not willing to neuter them, or at least cooperate with rescues that are trying to help.
PLEASE SHOW THIS PHOTO TO YOUR NEIGHBOURS, FAMILY AND FRIENDS IF THEY OWN OR FEED UNNEUTERED CATS. And share this post.
