Charlies 5 tips to stay cool this summer

1. Brush regularly at home, especially if your dog has a thick or long coat, as knots and trapped undercoat can hold heat.

2. Keep paws clean and check for grass seeds after walks, especially between the toes.

3. Make sure your dog always has access to fresh water, shade and a cool place to rest, particularly after walks or play.

4. Don’t leave it too long between baths or tidy-ups, a clean, well-maintained coat is much more comfortable than one full of loose hair and tangles.

5. When it’s time for a proper groom, a calm air-conditioned salon can make the whole experience much more comfortable in this weather.

A good groom isn’t just about looking lovely, it helps dogs stay clean, comfortable and happy through the summer.

🐶 First time in the grooming salon, and I was a little scared especially of the bath and the drier. However, I had a very nice person looking after me and he took me out for lots of breaks in a lovely garden. I started to feel much happier and my tail started wagging again. Thank you mr dog groomer for not rushing and making me feel safe. 🐶
