Poor Enzo has been such a good boy today. Jazz has decided she doesn’t care for him at all even though he’s done nothing wrong!

⭐️Star Of The Week!⭐️

Star of the week this week goes to another Freddie! When I started walking him alongside his brother, Charlie, I never would have thought I’d be able to walk them with other dogs. Which is a shame, because Charlie loves the other dogs. It’s just Freddie who is temperamental!

It was a gradual build up with Freddie. I would overlap picking him up and dropping another dog off so that they could see each other through the crates but never actually walk together. Then we started off just with Jazz who knows not to pester on lead dogs. Then we built from there until we got to the point of this week, attempting a group walk and all went wonderfully! Charlie got to play with Samson and Jazz and Freddie seems to have found himself a new bestie in the form of Reggie. I’m not sure how wise that is - I can imagine the two of them could cause trouble! Only time will tell on that one!

For now, a very good boy, Freddie!

The angelic face of a dog who certainly did not chase after two pheasants today. And he absolutely did not spend the rest of the walk suffering from selective hearing loss whilst he tried to find more. Absolutely unheard of. Must be some other dog….

It only rained for half an hour today. Unfortunately it was the same thirty minutes I was walking wee Lola for. She did look very fetching in her little jumper though!

⭐️ Star Of The Week!⭐️

This week’s star of the week is our beautiful boy, Freddie.

Freddie is reactive to …well, everything!

I’m no behaviourist and never pretend otherwise. In fact, if Freddie wasn’t so foody, I would have no idea how to help him.

But we’ve been working on it and this past week in particular; Freddie has shown amazing improvement! He’s starting to learn to look to me when he sees a trigger and isn’t barking as much as he used to. The other day a man with a dog did overtake us fairly close. Freddie did struggle, but under the circumstances, he did exceedingly well considering dogs are his biggest hang ups.

More often than not he’s allowing lone humans to pass us without kicking off and the other day; a bike sailed right past us from behind. I didn’t see him until after Freddie had and he only glanced and then looked back at me. He got massive rewards for that one!

He’s still got a long way to go but to show such improvement in just a few weeks is absolutely amazing. We’re all very proud of him!

For some reason, today Jazz was being a proper turd. To the point where she was thoroughly harassing poor Cisco. She could have done with being taken down a peg or two but the special lad opted instead to avoid conflict and came running to me for support instead. I’ve got a feeling he’s going to turn into such a mummy’s boy for the right person! A reminder that Cisco is in foster at the minute looking for his forever home so let me know if you can think of anybody!

And, for those worried, I did make sure Jazz left him alone after this. Fingers crossed she remembers her manners next week!

⭐️Star of the week! ⭐️

A reflection on the past week as to who stood out.

Our first week’s star has got to be our boy Cisco.

He is gaining in confidence and starting to have some tentative plays with Jazz and Reggie. Ive been letting his long line drag from time to time and his recall is definitely improving. He absolutely loves a cuddle and is a fast learner when treats are involved.

Are you sat thinking “wow! I wish I had a dog like that!” Well, you can! Cisco is being fostered locally on behalf of Hope For Podencos. He really is such a lovely boy. Whilst he could probably live with a calm dog who would respect his space, he would probably prefer to be the centre of attention. He has so much love to give. I would have him myself but my house would overwhelm him. I’m hopeful he will find his forever home soon.
