We are really sorry to let you know that due to the death of the lovely owner, Nora Halstead, a few months ago Draughton Riding Centre has now closed.

Thank you to all our lovely staff, liveries and customers from over
the last 30 years - you’ve been amazing and will be missed.

Thank you everyone for your comments and messages yesterday.

Many of your comments actually made me cry and your good wishes for the future of DRC are really appreciated more than you can know.

What I loved to hear the most were those saying how we had started a lifelong love of riding and horses for you - what a lovely thing that is - It is what it was all about for us.

We are really sad to let you know that we have decided to close as a Riding School at the end of this month and continue on as a Livery Yard only.

This has been a genuinely hard decision for us as we have been teaching riding for around 30 years and we have a lot of lovely memories of so many of you.

We are not parting with any of the horses or ponies and they will continue to be loved and looked after here at Draughton.

If you have gift vouchers that you want refunding please send them back to us with your bank details and we will sort that out for you.

We will miss you all and we’re really sorry that many of you will be upset about the closure but due to various reasons we feel this is the way we need to go forward.

Thank you to all of you who have ridden with us, supported us and worked with us over the years.

We have a couple of livery stables available if anyone is looking soon. We have an indoor school, lovely hacking and a friendly, helpful group of staff and liveries. BHS approved Livery Yard.

We have an active WhatsApp group so liveries can work around each other’s times to ensure safety for everyone.
