⭐️Superstar Laka⭐️

Beautiful Laka recently had her remeasuring after 12 weeks and she has put on a centimetre of muscle on both forelimbs! 💪🏻

Laka struggles with osteoarthritis in her elbows, with her right side being the worst affected. Over the weeks, her tendency to overuse her left side has been clear, but as time as gone on, we’ve seen an improvement in her range of motion in her right elbow and her shoulder and an improvement in her weight bearing this side.

She does still favour her left side, but as arthritis is not something we can get rid of, it can be difficult to completely eradicate all its effects. Laka has made amazing progress so far, and with this trajectory is very likely to continue to improve, which is key for keeping her comfortable and mobile as she ages.

⭐️🐾A superstar and a welcome!🐾⭐️

Because I was absolutely SHOCKING at posting after I had a lovely influx of new clients in March, I totally forgot to introduce you to Blue! 🩵

This beauty has hydro to help manage his osteoarthritis. He is a fabulous thirteen, and so hydro is perfect to help keep him mobile and comfortable as he ages. It’s also been doing wonders for his muscle building as he’s just had his second measuring and he’s put on 3cm of muscle on each of his hind limbs!

Whoever said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks hasn’t met Blue!

Muscle building can be particularly challenging for older pups but it is absolutely possible to get some strength back even in their older years.

Well done, Blue! 🥰🐾

🐾Everyone say hello to Albert!🐾

This little cutie started with me a couple of weeks ago to help manage his lameness following a corrective osteotomy on his right fore.

Essentially this poor guy had a deformity in his front leg that needed corrective surgery to put his bones back in the right place.

Though his recovery from surgery has been okay, we are still seeing some lameness in his forelimbs, and upon measuring his muscle mass we found there was a slight difference between his left and his right forelimbs.

So the goal is to reduce his lameness, build his comfort, and build his strength. Simple!

He has done so well in his hydro sessions so far! Stay tuned for more info as we get further down the line 💪🏻🩵

🐾Everyone welcome Beanie! 🐾

This lovely lady started with me a couple of weeks ago following an IVDD operation that has left her non-ambulatory on her hind limbs.

She is a wonderful little soul, full of life and energy, so we need to get her using her back legs again! Already after a couple of weeks, we are seeing stronger reflexes and in the tank she is getting active use in both her hind limbs!

The progress she is making already is a really positive sign and I have high hopes we’ll be able to get her back up on her feet! 💪🏻

🐾Everyone say hello to Yuki!🐾

This lovely girlie started with me recently following a suspected cruciate tear in her left hind limb. She has had a previous operation to repair her right cruciate ligament almost 18 months ago, from which she recovered well, but we now want to manage this new injury without surgery. We want to reduce her discomfort, improve her strength, and improve her mobility all round.

Yuki is a little unsure of too much handling due to previous bad experiences, and as such, a lot of her initial assessment had to be done visually through gait analysis.

I am all about creating a positive experience in the first session so we took everything at Yuki’s pace and allowed her to guide us. She took so well to the tank, and settled in perfectly to the new environment! I am so pleased with how she managed to adapt to the new situation, I think we are going to make fast progress with this lovely girl! 🥰🩵

This stunner is Cookie, who has recently started with me following a cruciate repair on her left hind limb.

Her recovery so far has been going well, but she is still heavily overloading her right hind and when I measured her muscle mass we had a significant difference between her hind limbs. Our goal is to improve her weight bearing on her left hind, improve her comfort, her range of motion, and rebuild that lost strength.

She is only two sessions into her treatment plan with me and she is already a little expert in the tank! 💪🏻

Can’t wait to see how far we can go Cookie! 🩵

⭐️Superstar Ernie!⭐️

Beautiful Ernie has been coming to me fortnightly to manage his hip dysplasia in preparation for the surgery he is likely to need when he reaches full maturity.

Our goal has been to manage his comfort and mobility whilst hopefully also building as much strength as possible in his hind limbs. When he started with me, his muscle mass measured at 55cm on his right hind, and 52.5cm on his left hind.

After ten weeks, Ernie now measures at 56.5cm in his right hind, and 56cm on his left hind!! 💪🏻

He’s also shown an improvement in his exercise tolerance, his hip extension and flexion, and is also gaining more control over his walks in the tank!

So here he is looking very chuffed with himself 🥰

Let’s keep building gorgeous boy! 🩵
