Chine House Equine Hospital is the largest equine practice in the East Midlands. It is staffed by 11 equine veterinary surgeons including 1 holder of the RCVS certificate in equine surgery (soft tissue), 2 holders of the RCVS certificate of equine practice and 1 holder of both the RCVS cer

tificate of equine practice and the RCVS certificate of Equine Medicine (Stud Medicine), 3 fully qualified veterinary nurses and 4 auxiliary nurses. The equine hospital was developed in the late 1990's to include a purpose built equine operating theatre, padded anaesthetic induction and recovery boxes, and a large examination room. The hospital was further expanded to include purpose built isolation facilities, extra stabling (bringing the total number to 19) and indoor stocks for standing surgical and medical procedures. We also have paddock area for inpatient use. Small Animal Hospital

The small animal veterinary surgeons, Con Hassett, David Blow, Craig Hunt, Martin Rudkin, Alison Pagett and Rosie Thorpe have over 75 years of small animal veterinary experience between them and are supported by a team of eight fully qualified veterinary nurses and four trainee veterinary nurses. The small animal department was refurbished in 2002 and has 2 waiting rooms, 4 consulting rooms, a large prep area, 3 operating theatres and a wide range of species specific hospitalisation areas. The vets have a wide range of surgical and medical interests, and can use the latest equipment to diagnose problems and treat your pet.

VACANCY - EQ GROOM
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced groom to help us in the Equine Hospital. This is a part-time temporary position not exceeding 25 hours per week. This is on a daily split shift basis, with a potential need for weekend cover.

Candidates must be confident around horses and competent in all aspects of equine husbandry.

This role requires mucking out, grooming and general yard maintenance. Additional duties may be required from time to time at the discretion of the management.

Are you an enthusiastic Receptionist ready to join a new team? We require a Part Time Receptionist to deliver exceptional care to our clients and their pets at Chine House in Sileby, Loughborough (LE12).

We offer veterinary services to Small Animal, Exotics and Equine clients. We offer a range of clinical services from preventative healthcare through to complex medical, surgical and orthopaedic procedures. We have superb, spacious, purpose-built surroundings with operating theatres, multiple consulting rooms, digital x-ray and in-house laboratory.

You will be supported to develop your skills.

The ideal candidate will be a positive, friendly service-orientated person with a “can do” attitude who has:

Previous customer service experience working within a fast-paced environment (desirable)
Previous Veterinary experience (desirable).
Proven track record of maintaining good working relationships with clients and colleagues.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent organisational and prioritising skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks, work to tight deadlines and stay focused under pressure.
Outstanding telephone manner with the ability to build rapport with customers quickly.
Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
Excellent attention to detail
Proficient with computers (windows based applications)
This role will involve:

Welcoming and registering new customers.
Booking in customers and making sure they receive excellent service
Answering the telephone and dealing with a range of customer queries.
Liaising with vets, nurses and management where necessary
Managing customer expectations regarding waiting times.
Administration duties e.g. scanning in paperwork, filling in forms etc.
Taking payments.

Please do not leave your dogs in the car, even with windows open it's incredibly hot and they can very quickly overheat.

We are looking for 2 RVNs to join our team to deliver exceptional care at Chine House Veterinary Hospital to cover maternity leave for a period of 9 - 12 months. There are 2 positions available and 3rd year Student would be considered.

We are a friendly RCVS accredited hospital who run out own out of hours service. we work to a very high standard of patient care with separate cat, dog and exotic wards, in house laboratory and digital x-ray. We have a superb, spacious hospital with 4 operating theatres, separate dental and imaging spaces and multiple consulting rooms.

We have a team of 11 SA vets who are supported by 18 RVNs, SVNs and a team of 3 Auxiliary Nurses. We also have a separate Equine Hospital on site,

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and show initiative within the role. We have an Exotics Specialist Vet so an interest in exotics would be an advantage but not a necessity as full training in handling and nursing will be provided.

Chine House is a fast paced environment with a focus on developing your nursing skills. We support CPD and encourage certificates. Our team of Auxiliaries look after all prep and cleaning of theatres, theatre kits, laundry etc plus a team of 13 receptionists so this role is purely nursing. Shifts will be between 7am and 8pm over a 37.5 hour working week including OOH, night and weekend shifts.

Team Chine 2026 Challenge Completed!
The 9 Edges, 23 mile hike in the Peak District finished on Saturday and to date we have raised a fabulous £2670 for 2 charities, Vetlife and Lymphoma Action. We still have very kind donations coming in from our clients.

A few pictures here of the walk and our outstanding star Noodle, who completed the walk with the team and although she does have 4 legs they are quite small! Well deserved rest at the end Noodle.
