🐾 Let’s Talk De-shedding (aka… less fur EVERYWHERE) 🐾
If you’ve ever found cat hair in your coffee, on your clothes, or somehow in places it shouldn’t be… this one’s for you 😅
De-shedding isn’t just for the fluffy, long-haired cats — short-haired kitties need it too!
Even though their coats are shorter, they still shed just as much (sometimes more!), and all that loose hair can build up, stick to everything, and get swallowed during grooming.
Here’s why regular de-shedding is a must for all cats:
✨ Reduces shedding around your home
Removing loose, dead hair means less fur on your furniture, clothes, and floating through the house.
✨ Fewer hairballs (for everyone’s sake 😬)
Less loose coat = less hair ingested = fewer hairballs. Your floors will thank you!
✨ Prevents matting (yes, even in short hair!)
Short-haired cats can still get compacted, dense coats that lead to matting and skin discomfort.
✨ Healthier skin & coat
De-shedding helps the skin breathe and distributes natural oils, leaving the coat soft, shiny, and healthy.
✨ More comfort year-round
Removing that excess undercoat helps keep your cat cooler and more comfortable — especially in warmer weather.
✨ Consistency is key
Regular de-shedding helps prevent coat build-up before it becomes a problem. As a general guide:
• Short-haired cats: every 2–4 weeks
• Medium and long-haired cats: every 4–6 weeks
Keeping on top of it means less stress, less matting, and a much happier kitty overall.
At Clip and Purr, every de-shed is done gently and at your cat’s pace — whether they’re long-haired, short-haired, or somewhere in between 💛
🐱 Less fluff. Less mess.
