Things have been a little hit and miss around here lately and everyone has had a slightly quieter time whilst I was attempting to heal! I had my shoulder fractured and foot well and truely broken but nearly back to normal now. Although my foot requires surgery I can walk about and ride so I'm making the most of being able to do something!🤷🏼‍♀️
Hera has continued her education and is making fabulous progress. She seems to have read a book or two and everything I ask of her shes just “yep, I know, I can do that”😍 So as soon as I could I took her to a couple of parties at Allen's Hill which is my favourite venue for babies as there is such a relaxed atmosphere and fabulous staff who are always so friendly and supportive. She behaved impeccably, collecting fabulous comments and marks from judges and bringing home rosettes too🥰 She has now done 5 outings and started popping fences at home but is ready for a half term holiday so will have a few weeks enjoying spring grass whilst she takes in everything she learnt so far!
As soon as I could compete again Dora continued her education, getting wonderful marks and comments from judges and in 3 outings had managed to qualify for the RoR Winter Dressage Championships at Pickering Grange . She was qualified to go into the intro and prelim so I decided to take a leap of faith and go with her. It was a huge ask on only her 5th outing but she was amazing and really rose to the occasion. She didn't bat an eye lid about being indoors or having a very busy warm up and she finished roughly mid division of the intro then in the prelim finished in the top 20 of 54. She really did try so so hard and seemed to enjoy herself 🤞🏻I couldn't be more delighted with her🥰 The next steps for her is to try showing and continue with her jumping so we will work on that now I'm back to fitness so she can really start to have fun!

I only have this one Fb page if you see another it’s not me 🤣 why anyone would want to is beyond understanding anyway 💞😘
So apparently people are getting CLONED NOT HACKED on fb!! Changing your password does NOTHING! Heads-Up!! Almost every account is being cloned. One of Your pictures and your name are used to create a "new" Facebook Account. (They don't need your password to do this). They want your friends to add them to their accounts. Your friends will think that it's you and accept your request. From that point on they can write what they want under your name.
I have NO plans to open a new account!!!
PLEASE DO NOT ACCEPT A NEW FRIEND REQUEST FROM ME.
Better Safe than Sorry
Copied & pasted, you can too!

After the slight chaos of having to deal with snow, then Christmas and New Year, things have gone back to normal for the team!🥂

This is Petal who now has a,proper name, Herawhile, we have decided that she's actually a little goddess so has the pet name Hera. And as we have all totally fallen in love with her and no one can bare the thought of her leaving, we added "while" to her name so it's,pronounced "Here a while".
This is Hera before Christmas and before the Cotswolds got turned into winter wonderland!❄️ Having had a three week stint of mainly hacking to help her fitness and strength with the odd day of pottering about in school things started to become a little more focused on actually schooling. We need to work on her learning to steer from the seat and leg as you can see from this we are still needing the rails to help us, but equally she's so sweet, willing and desperate to please to get it right🥰

So on Sunday Dora and Sunny had their first outing to a competition! We took them to Allens Hill where they both competed in the intro and prelim unaffiliated classes and were both impeccably behaved. With neither of them having been in a competition environment they took it all in their stride and delivered some fantastic tests! As always there is still plenty to work on but I am over the moon with how they both went🥇🥈

Dora produced two tests, gaining 66% in the Intro and 68% in the Prelim. I was absolutely blown away by her maturity and willingness to want to please! From here on we will start to add in coloured poles, progressing onto some jumps including rustic fences. Then in the New Year we will go to some more dressage outings, possibly combined training (providing the jumping goes well!)🥰

Sunny arrived with us about 8 weeks ago. Having just been backed he came to us to carry on his education and progression towards becoming a showing and competition pony for his owner/breeder; Carole Ireland. We have also had Sunny’s Sire and Dam before. I think he’s a very special pony and should go far, flying the flag for the Haselor Stud and emulating his Sire Haselor Cormac🏳️

Petal has made massive progress really fast. She went from being lent across, then sat, on to hacking out all within the space of 3 days. I couldn’t be more pleased with her appetite to want to learn new things. Really excited to see what the future holds with this one🌟

Dora is strengthening week by week. She has 3 sessions a week in the school now as she’s fit enough to take the extra work. Her eagerness to learn and please makes her a joy to work with☀️

After both having had their teeth done by Steve Welsh both Dora and Petal have carried on their educations. They had 3 days off after seeing Steve to allow their mouths to settle as their teeth were extremely sharp and both had ulcers due to this 🦷

Here, Petal had one of her last days long reining before starting her ridden work. She spent the weeks in the school and out on adventures to make sure we had steering - and more importantly breaks!! We also spent time leaning across her in the stable to get her comfortable with taking the weight of a human🍂

Dora is 100% better in the hand with being more comfortable in the mouth, accepting the contact and willing to work into an outline having had Steve out to treat her. She has been strengthening up, slowly but surely and has been showing some extremely promising work. She now needs to become more confident and relaxed so that she can show off her natural paces under saddle🐴

After a week and a half of walking we had introduced a little bit of flat work with Dora. Just working on the very basics like you would do with a youngster of going forwards in walk, trot and canter. She’s showing a willingness to put herself into an outline and carry herself properly but she was clearly uncomfortable in her mouth so we booked the dentist to have her looked at. We went back to walking out on the roads and not worrying about the flat work. From having her this short time it’s already very evident that she was broken in and brought on extremely nicely prior to her 2 year break in the field.

Petal at this point had her saddle fitted beginning long reining with it and was very happy out exploring the surroundings🍁

With a yard full of horses and clipping in full swing free time is very limited so I’m going to be catching up on the progress of the 2 new girls and posting the footage of their journey so far to get up to date! Along with updates from the rest of the team🐴

📷 Having had a week of TLC, grooming, being rugged and in stables along with a slow, steady introduction of some hard feed, both have started some walk work; Dora ridden and Petal on the lunge…the difference in the 2 mares already is amazing!

So a little bit more about the 2 new additions to the team🐴

Dora the black 7yr old mare has hurdle raced but stopped due to a chip of bone in her knee so was turned away to heel. Sadly whilst she was recovering her owner passed away unexpectedly leaving no one to care for her, or Petal, the 6yr old unbroken, lightly handled bay mare. I was approached by a distant relative of hers and asked to take on Dora and Petal. Which is how I have come about rescuing them!
We will slowly bring on Dora to a new career for RoR, showing, dressage, jumping and hopefully eventing and begin breaking Petal in and starting her education to see what career path she chooses.

📷 Photos from when they very first arrived- they already look massively different!
