🎉 It’s Play in the Sand Day – and yes, it’s totally a thing!
Sand is more than a beach holiday luxury – it’s sensory heaven for dogs:
🐾 Diggable, sniffable, paw-cooling, and muscle-building.
But here’s the best part: you don’t need a seaside trip to enjoy it.
🌾 Got a garden? Fill a shallow tub or dig pit with play sand.
🐚 No garden? Try a large tray or builder’s mixing tub with sand and hidden treats indoors!
Just be sure to use safe, clean play sand (no builder’s grit!)

✅ Use short training moments to reward calm behaviour
✅ Keep a few treats in your pocket for spontaneous engagement

From sizzling BBQs to still water ponds, a curious sniff could turn into a costly vet trip. Stay safe with these quick summer tips for dogs:

✅ Keep an eye on BBQ leftovers – bones, corn cobs, and skewers can be seriously harmful
💧 Avoid letting your dog drink from or swim in still water – toxic blue-green algae can be deadly
🔥 Watch out for hot pavements – if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws
🍦 Skip the ice creams – many contain sweeteners or dairy that don’t agree with doggy tummies
🕶️ Provide plenty of shade and fresh water when you’re out and about

🌟 Top Tip of the Month: Protect Your Dog’s Paws This Summer!

Did you know pavements can get much hotter than the air—and burn your dog’s paws in minutes?
Always walk your dog early in the morning or late in the evening when surfaces are cool, and avoid hot pavements altogether. If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws!

Other ways to keep your pup safe:
🐾Stick to grassy areas or shaded trails
🐾Try dog boots or paw wax for extra protection
🐾Check paws regularly for redness or blisters
🐾Of course use Pawdaw of London Paw Balm
