You will always be sure of a warm welcome here at Predators, as well as stocking an extensive range of exotic pets, food and dry goods we are always happy to offer Exotic Pet help and advice. Being reptile keepers for many years ourselves, we are well versed in the keeping these amazing exotic animals. We have a con

stant changing array of exotic pets for sale but also have several unusual pets of our own in the shop including Rattle snakes, Spectacle Camen (Alligators) and our breeding pair of 14 foot Burmese Pythons. For over 8 years we have been offering our exotic pets and have become one of the most well respected exotic pet shops of our kind in the north, endorsed by the most important people of all, our customers.

Due to staff completely melting and the humidity around 100000% we are making the decision to close at 3 today to try and find some cool water and shade!
Back open at 10 am tomorrow :)

Live food is in store all fresh!
We have got as many fans running directly at them as we can to keep them cool but would highly recommend you grab before they get too warm :)

Please take pitty on all staff working over the next 2 days, in a heatwave, in a reptile shop! We take donations of ice water and ice lollies hahaha 😆

Hi all!

Obviously I'm sure everyone is aware there is a severe heat wave approaching.
There are certain things you can do to ensure the safety of of our scaley buddies.
Make sure fresh water is always avaliable, even multiple times a day.
Mist heavily first thing in a morning for species that require it and throughput the day if at all possible.
Any heating that is running without a thermostat, including tortoise table heating should be turned off.
Young tortoises should be bathed daily to avoid dehydration.
Just keep an eye for any signs of stress.
For new Caledonian species you may be able to place a fan close to the enclosure to draw hot air out (as well as axolotls)
Keep any curtains closed in rooms that are sunny

As a footnote

We are keeping a very close eye on thursday as the heat peaks as health and safety for both staff and volunteers is our highest priority as we may close early

Keep safe and plenty of suncream to the humans and doggie noses :) but most of all try and enjoy what little of the weather we do get safely ###

After extensive research, I've concluded that Matthew and a Yemen chameleon are essentially the same animal.

• Both wake up every morning looking personally offended by something.

• The Yemen chameleon can effortlessly climb a tree. Matthew sees this as more of a temporary challenge before falling out of it.

• The Yemen chameleon survives on a carefully balanced diet of insects. Matthew survives on a carefully balanced diet of pizza and optimism.

• The Yemen chameleon will aggressively attack a cotton bud. Matthew will aggressively attack a dandelion.

• Both believe they are fierce predators despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

• Both spend long periods staring into space judging everyone around them.

• The Yemen chameleon puffs up when annoyed. Matthew puffs up when someone parks badly.

• Both can be grumpy for reasons known only to themselves.

• Both require specific environmental conditions to thrive.

• Both become dramatically more pleasant after being fed.

• Neither appreciates being told they're wrong.

• Both have the emotional range of "fine" and "hungry."

• Both are surprisingly expensive to maintain.

• Both have a tendency to glare at their owner as if they've been deeply wronged.

• Both are hard work.

• Both are ridiculously lovable despite being absolute nightmares.

**Can you love this Yemen chameleon despite his attitude problems?**

He may judge your life choices.

He may stare at you from across the room like you've committed a crime.

He may become irrationally angry at completely harmless objects.

He may require pizza as part of his enrichment programme.

He may occasionally attempt gravity experiments involving trees.

But beneath the grumpy exterior is a loyal, lovable creature who would be deeply missed if he ever disappeared.
