We welcome a Clear set Of guidelines for the industry - like most of the pet care industry - grooming is completely unregulated which means anyone can pick up a pair of scissors and start grooming dogs
I’m Proud that I have a team of conscience groomers who have invested in themselves and their craft to undertake the level three grooming and salon management course with - ipet - and we will all qualify this summer
The new guidelines for staff and parents will be available in the salon next week
✂️ New Pet Grooming Guidelines are here!
Today marks a big step forward for the pet grooming industry, with the launch of the UK’s first national guidelines for dog and cat groomers by the CFSG, and we’re proud to have played a part through the Pet Industry Federation (PIF) and our British Dog Groomers’ Association (BDGA).
These guidelines don’t just set a benchmark for welfare and safety. They also bring long-overdue recognition for the highly skilled professionals who groom pets day in, day out.
We know how hard you work to keep pets safe, happy and looking their best, and now there's a clear standard that reflects the care and professionalism you already deliver.
What's more, PIF members (who we know are already the best out there!), get access to a range of documents to help them show their compliance to their customers, including:
✅ A compliance checklist
✅ Pet owner info you can share with your customers
✅ Editable policy templates
✅ Training discounts via PIF Education
✅ Ongoing support, resources and community
If you’re not part of PIF yet, now’s a great time to join us and be part of the organisation leading the industry forward.
If you're not yet part of PIF, there’s never been a better time to join! To view the full guidelines, find out more, login and join, simply visit:
