If you and your dog like scentwork you don't want to miss this,

At Watercombe Dogs we are running a summer series of mystery events, the first kicks of Sunday 7th June.

What happens?
- Book you time slot via the Watercombe website; watercombedogs.co.uk
- On the day there are a number of areas with different searches available, area searches, line up, perimeter etc.
- You will work through each area and your assistant (provided by us) will note down your dogs finds.
- Once your dogs search is done you are given the clues they have found, allowing you to piece together what has happened and solve the mystery.

Busy classes this week at Watercombe Dogs One of the things we’ve been working on recently in scentwork classes is dogs learning to start that sniffing on cue even when they are working further away from the handler .

For many of the teams this was a new concept, so we kept things simple and set them up to succeed.

- Low distraction environment
- Setups the dogs already felt confident with,
- Building at each dogs pace

It was lovely watching the dogs take on this new idea work independently and still use all those sniffing powers to solve the puzzle 🐶

Some very thoughtful searching from this lot this week!

Dogs make so many different noises… the grumbles, the sighs, the little huffs, the ridiculous dream running noises, the excited squeaks when food appears 😂

But we all have a favourite, right?

This one is mine… that intense sniffing noise they make during scentwork when you can see they know the job, they know the odour is close, and they’re just trying to pinpoint exactly where it is.

Honestly, it makes my heart sing every time 🐶👃
