Saturday Trailing!
A fabulous day at Round Chimneys Farm, this venue is amazing and has the added bonus of a wonderful cafe with excellent coffee and cake!
With the morning group we discussed it all first and it was decided with the space we had and the 5 experienced teams in attendance, plus overcast and mild weather, each team would do one long trail. This tested the dogs in terms of their expectations and patterns and also gave use room to use some open spaces within the field and work on what happens with gates! The teams all meet the challenge head on and were very successful. Well done Team Olive, Team Chilli, Team Cola, Team Ludo and Team Jaffa.
Onto the afternoon and another 5 brilliant teams (after we had lunch and cake!) .
A mixture of new and more experienced teams with different challenges for all, with Team (little) Olive, Team Teddy and Team Monty, we had working the open spaces fields, decoys and challenging starts.
Team Nala re joined us after 6 months off with the same enthusiasm and wonderful ex*****on, dogs don’t forget the game they love.
We also welcome Team Skye to their first progression session, the 4 legged member of Team Skye is a little worried by the world, however she took to the trail so well. To set her up for success we cut out any fan fair from her hiding human as this could cause more worry from her. Like the smart little collie she is she popped her nose down and followed the trail beautifully, going directly to the person and happily taking her reward!
