We breed a variety of colours and coat types, hence the name Rainbow Guinea Pigs. RESPONSIBLE BREEDING
We have 30+ years of experience breeding guinea pigs and our primary focus is on health a

nd temperament over aesthetics. Our sows (girls) only have one litter of babies a year before retiring at three years of age. Our boars (boys) are kept separately from the girls to avoid over-breeding. We only sell single guinea pigs to accompany another guinea pig. FREE-RANGE APPROACH
Our guinea pigs enjoy long summers free ranging on the lawns in herds together. Then cosy winters tucked up with their own radiator and a heat lamp. VISITING
We are based between Frome and Shepton Mallet. We welcome people to come visit our home if they're interested in buying guinea pig babies. Children are welcome too. Just give us a call on 01749850811 to arrange a visit. We provide lots of advice in the care, health, and handling of your pets. Baby Guinea pigs are £20 each.

It is with regret that I will no longer be reserving Guinea pigs.
All will be on a first come basis.
I have girls available now.

It is too hot to put Guinea pigs outside.
Watch all your pets!
Heatstroke hits fast and can, and often is fatal.
Very Quickly!!!

The new girls are settling in very well, they always seem surprised when the dinner arrives.
They still need to pack on some poundage, not easy with this drought going on.
So little grass about, they are usually on the lawns for several hours a day all summer.
I only have grass on ones, instead of 4, the others are all dried up.
The babies are a lot smaller this year too.
They get veg for tea every evening but you can’t beat grass for fattening piggies.
Thankfully the dandelions are coming back up, not enough bulk though.
Praying no-one strims them!
I hate strimmers!
Baby girls very camera shy!

Rescue Intake day!
As many as I could afford!
All girls, a couple of babies, took the most needy , mainly young adult pregnant sows.
Firstly getting them some proper food and really good hay.
Leaving them to have a rest now while it is quiet.
The main herd is on what is left of the lawn, having a good run about and munching what grass I have left.

Emergency yesterday when one of my girls ‘flat packed”!
I immediately submerged her, back end first, in the yard tank. Held her in there for 5 minutes, wetting her head too.
It has been touch and go and I didn’t hold out a lot of hope.
Just before midnight she was eating a bit of hay, I was so pleased, she had a super supper of cucumber celery carrot and beetroot.
Heatstroke KILLS. She was inside.
Symptoms- twitching, unresponsive and literally flat and floppy.
Outdoor water is not as cold as tap water so less of a shock.
If you don’t find them fast enough they probably won’t make.
My Guineas are not going out until about 9-9.30pm
When the sun has gone completely.
Having said all this some of my girls are hanging out in the sunspots????

Guineas spending the evenings mowing the lawn until darkness falls.
Be very careful as they can suffer from heatstroke which may well be fatal!

It has been a beautiful Spring, super weather and loads of sunshiny days.
Except, there have been very few Guinea babies about.
Hopefully that is going to change.
I have a limited number of baby boys. Need handling, but settling in at last.

My phone signal has been on the blink!( Blame Sky)!
Including the home phone.
